“While the 2013 color of the year, PANTONE 175641 Emerald, served as a symbol of growth, renewal and prosperity, Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute®.

“An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society.”

“An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”

I for one am so excited for the Pantone shade, Radiant Orchid! So, many combinations of products and colors can be used all over the face, and also on nails, to radiate joy this year. A wearable shade on all skintones, Radiant Orchid is perfect to enhance one’s natural beauty.  In this article I will be discussing top products to create your own radiant beauty!

If your eyes are to be your main focus, here are some great products to inject Radiant Orchid into your look: Urban Decay  Eyeshadow in Fishnet and 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Asphyxia.

Fishnet Eyeshadow is great on all skintones, and can be used in the crease or all over the lid to make a smoky, radiant eye. For Asphyxia, I would use it more for under the eye on lighter skintones; for darker skintones, you can use it to line all around the eye.

Cargo also has a great Eyeshadow called Shanghai. This shadow is great for color-phobes, as you can pile it on for a dark wash or just use it for a light layer of color on the eye.

If cream shadows are more your thing, then I would suggest Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Color in Orchid. I love Laura‘s shadows, for they glide on the lid easily and don’t crease. You can also use it as a base to steady your other shades for layering.

This is a medium orchid tone, but if you want to play it safe and just add a hint of color, I would suggest using Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in PK302. This is a really light shade. On darker skintones, you could even use this all over the eye. On a lighter tone, I would keep it to the lid, as the rose might make you look tired if applied all over.

To line and define the eye, Merle Norman has a great eyeliner that compliments all of these shades. You can always use black, however, this particular shade in Eggplant will look beautiful. Merle Norman Age Defying Eyeliner is a twist-up liner with a smudger at the end to create a  defined or smoky line.

Last but not least are lips, cheeks and nails! Merle Norman offers up a beautiful cream blush in
Warm. The whipped texture glides onto cheeks, creating a soft glow that doesn’t overpower the face.

For nails, L’Oréal has a gorgeous polish in Butterfly Kisses. Your talons will compliment the rest of your overall look.

For lips, Laura Mercier has a shade that compliments all skintones and hair colors: Stick Gloss in Peony is the perfect shade that works whether you do heavy or light eyes. The creamy, glossy texture stays on and will make your pout sing.
