It’s 2014! And BeautyStat is happy to welcome aboard some NEW writers. This #FF, we’ll meet Nicole Marie Melton, who is a freelance beauty and health writer based in Washington, DC., having worked at Attention PR and ESSENCE.com.

“I’m so excited to be a new addition to the BeautyStat editorial team! I’ve been beauty-obsessed for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I loved playing with makeup and always tried to sneak into my mom’s vanity cabinet.

I didn’t know it back then, but all of time I spent creating unique hairstyles (before there was YouTube to make it simple!) and polishing my girlfriends’ nails as a teen was an indication of great things to come.”

Now that you know a little bit about me, I wanted to share 5 of my All-Time Favorite Skincare products. These are my tried-and-true faves!

Nicole’s 5 must-have skincare treats!

Murad Rapid Age Spot and Pigment Lightening Serum: I have adult-acne, and this is the most effective over-the-counter treatment for getting rid of dark spots that blemishes can leave behind. I’ve been using it for over three years now, and I highly recommend it for hyperpigmentation.

Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover: I’ll be honest: I rarely leave home without at least one quick coat of black mascara. In the evenings, this makeup remover gets rid of any and all eye makeup in one quick swipe. It’s super-gentle and a little goes a long way.

Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturizer: Heavy foundation has never been my thing. Instead, I rely on this tinted moisturizer to give me a nice, even-toned glow that looks totally natural. The great thing about this product is that it’s oil-free (a huge bonus for those of us with oily skin) and it also has SPF 20, which is a must for daily wear, year-round.

Proactiv + Pore Targeting Treatment: The new Proactiv + line is a total lifesaver! I had used the original Proactiv line for about 2 years before the Plus line debuted. I typically use this treatment as a primer under my tinted moisturizer. It leaves my skin nice and matte, and contains benzoyl peroxide to keep breakouts at bay.

Glamglow Youth Mud This is the master of all masks! I love it because it’s really like a scrub and mask in one, but it’s gentle enough for my acne-prone skin. As soon as I put this mask on, I can feel my skin get nice and tight in less than 5-minutes, which is great for when my schedule is jam-packed.

You can purchase all reviewed and mentioned items using our site, www.BeautyStat.com!

I look forward to sharing more of my favorite products and beauty treats in the weeks and months to come! Do you have any tried-and-true skincare gems? I wanna hear ’em!

I am a beauty junkie too! Proactive has been the ONLY product that clears up a blemish fast! One of my current favorites for a natural skin glow is Burberry’s Fresh Glow. It’s a highlighting lotion that looks great over a foundation or just alone! Feel free to check out my fashion/beauty/travel blog, http://www.divinemzm.com!

Welcome to Beautystat Nicole, I’m excited to see what you are going to bring to Beautystat. I have only tried the Murad serum I’ve only started using it so I can’t give my thoughts on it yet! Thanks
