 Bold, Accented Eye Color

(Left to Right): At Sally LapointeKabuki for MAC Cosmetics created a look inspired by “a palette cleanser of pastels… inspired by the lightness of a feather.” Eyes were refreshed and hydrated with Past Response Eye Cream for Cyan, Fuchsia and White eye shades; MAC Pro Lipmixes were to be applied on the eye with a fluffy brush for a stained effect.

Bold eyes at Peter Som Spring/Summer 2015 were inspired by iconic pop art from the 1960’s. Eyes were the dramatic focus, with Maybelline Color Tattoo Leathers 24HR Cream-Gel Shadow in Creamy Beige used as a base and Color Sensational Vivids Lipcolor in Vibrant Mandarin applied to the inner corners of the eyes, creating a sharp, graphic edge.

Inspired by the LA Flower Mart, Sarah Lucero for Stila Cosmetics chose makeup in a bouquet of colors for the Trina Turk SS’15 show. A soft finish for the eyes and lips were achieved by using the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Smudge Stick in Turquoise and Liquid Lipstick in Carina.

At the Dannijo Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, Maybelline’s Yadim created a modern tribal look in blue with Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments in Brash Blue across the eyelid to make the silver jewelry pop!

Luminous Skin

A healthy, sculpted face was achieved at Prabal Gurung with the help of Diane Kendal for MAC Cosmetics. The face was primed with Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer and contoured with Sculpt Sculpting Powder Pro Palette over cheekbones; Vanilla Pigment helped highlight the high planes of the face, including the brows, across the nose and over the upper cheekbones and chin.

Elisa Ferri for NARS Cosmetics (far right) wanted to create simple sensuality, “the way the morning light hits you as you wake up in your bedroom…” at the 3.1 Phillip Lim SS ’15 show. Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and Reckless Blush (New for Spring 2015; for now try New Order Blush) were applied to the cheeks (along with the right side of Jubilation Dual-Intensity Blush; New for Spring 2015; for now try South Beach Multiple).

Diane Kendal for Lancôme created creamy, dewy skin with a soft smoky eye for Jason Wu Spring/Summer 2015 Collection. Skin was hydrated with NEW! products including the Las Base Hydra Glow at the cheekbones, Nude Miracle Liquid to Powder Makeup, Absolue L’Extrait Ultimate Radiance Mist and Serum Ultimate Rejuvenating Concentrated Elixir. Cheeks had some subtle color with Blush Subtil Palette All-In-One Contour Blush & Highlighter in Nectar Lace.

Leave it to Marc Jacobs to close NYFW with a literal “no makeup” makeup look. All François Nars used was NARSskin Luminous Moisture Cream on the models. “With Marc we always take it to the extreme, we’ve done bold looks in the past, but this season we wanted to make a statement by not applying anything.” Statement made.

For Dennis Basso, Avon Celebrity Makeup Artist  Jamie Greenberg created a look that balanced tonality and defined lines. She used a neutral palette to create a sleek finish that complimented the soft, romantic feel of the collection. Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Mocha, SuperShock Gel Eye Liner in Blackout and Avon Big & Daring Volume Mascara in Blackest Black helped set this classic eye look.

A dramatic, ultra-chic cat-eye was created at the Spring/Summer 2015 Cushnie Et Ochs show with Maybelline. Yadim applied Eye Studio Tattoo Leathers 24HR Cream-Gel Shadow in Dramatic Black to the upper eyelid, drawing the line out into a sharp, graphic edge. Once again, a glossy eye look was achieved by dabbing on some Baby Lips in Quenched over the eye.

A ‘60s Twiggy style look at Thom Brown with lashes, lashes and lashes! MAC Cosmetics Ebony Eye Pencil was drawn through the upper lash line to extend with an edge at the corners, then traced slightly over the crease of the eye to define, slightly blended for a ‘slept-in” effect. RapidBlack Penultimate Eye Liner was layered over the Ebony Pencil to darken and deepen the shape. Pure White Chromagraphic Pencil was applied in the waterline to open the eyes, along with 36 Lashes with 7 Lashes over the upper lash line.

A “warrior woman” is all about strength and power, as seen at Herve Leger with Val Garland for MAC Cosmetics. The eyes were strong and bold with MAC Pro Black Creme Liner used to draw a square-shaped graphic liner, creating a look of black electrical tape over the lid.

Masculine accents with a feminine twist were seen at Marissa Webb Spring/Summer 2015 with Maybelline. Yadim created a shiny, creamy springtime smoky eye using Master Kajal in Charcoal Skies all the way to the upper lid and Black Onyx close to the lash line. He added some Color Molten eye color shades (available Jan. 2015) in Midnight Morph and Sapphire Mist. And, of course, Baby Lips in Quenched on top of the eyelids made for some glossy eye sheen.

Flushed Cheeks

NARS Director of Global Artistry James Boehmer created the effortless look at Creatures of the Wind SS’15. It was all about skater boys with great skin, lots of freckles and a left over summer-vacation look to them. James groomed the brows with Oural Brow Gel and gave the cheeks a “flushed, overheated look” using Ligueria Lipstick on cheeks (New for Spring 2015; for now, try Belle Du Jour Sheer Lipstick).

Jenny Packham’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection was inspired by legendary actress Marilyn Monroe. The show’s lead makeup artist, Talia Shobrook, channeled the icon in the creation of her “flawless bare” face to showcase healthy, beautiful skin. To highlight the cheekbone, Talia applied a combination of Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Linen and Laura Mercier Moisture Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen. She then used shades from the NEW! Laura Mercier Contour Kit (exclusive to Sephora in January 2015) and Laura Mercier Moisture Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen to contour the cheeks.

Thakoon SS ’15 wanted the girls to appear as if they were coming out of water, so the beauty look is all about the gloss on the eyelid, brushed up into the brow. Less is more for Diane Kendal of NARS Cosmetics: Triple X Lip Gloss (on eyelids) and Oural Brow Gel gave the models that wet look.
