Summer 2011 Tips to Melt Proof Your Makeup

When record temperatures break out, there are strategies to help you prevent your makeup from dripping all the way down your face like a popsicle. There are a few products out there that can help you do this, however:

1.ย e.l.f. Studio’s “Lock and Seal” was specifically developed and created to keep your makeup in place. The product locks in AND promises to increase the intensity of all the colors you wear on your face, which is completely the reverse of what you think would happen. Plus, it’s only $3.

2. A good primer can help your makeup stay put. Choose one that glides well on your skin, and is not too oily. We love Fusion Beauty’s anti-acne and redness correcting options, which help prevent and fix at the same time.

3. Skindinavia’s ย Makeup Finishing Spray uses a special chilling technology that makes your cosmetics smudge proof, and it’s best used after you finish your entire makeup. It creates a weightless and invisible bond, and preserves all the details of your makeup techniques, from blending to layering.

4. Go easy on your makeup. This may seem obvious, but consider if you really want a liquid eyeliner, blush, two coats of lipstick and mascara. Pare down the details and stick with the basics if possible, in order to avoid a big lumpy mess at the end of a sweltering day.

Do you have a melt proof makeup tip to share?

I do not have a tip… but would love to try this!!! I am at the baseball park in central Alabama every weekend for hours (sometimes 12+) in the high heat and humidity! This would be a true test!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I use the ELF Lock and Seal and it is a very good product!! You can also dip an angled liner brush into the liquid, then dip it into your favorite shadow and use it as a liquid liner ๐Ÿ˜‰
