The Right To Shower Head To Toe Cleanser | $11.99

Unilever is doing something new, different, and altogether amazing. The company believes that no one should be denied access to cleanliness because of their housing situation. That’s why they have announced their newest social mission, The Right To Dignity, which supports mobile shower organizations around the country to help provide reliable access to showers and other basic hygiene needs, which are services often unrecognized but proven to be critical in improving welfare.

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, homelessness is on the rise for the first time since 2010 with more than 554,000 people experiencing homelessness in the United States each day. Often times when we think of the homeless population, shelter and food are the most urgent needs that come to mind, but we know that a lack of access to basic hygiene practices – like the ability to take a shower – can have an immense impact. In fact, experts recognize that this lack of access to showers can directly compromise the sense of dignity of a person living on the streets, limiting their ability to feel part of a community and playing a pivotal role in being ignored or even rejected by society.

A shower can help people feel like themselves again, restore dignity, renew confidence, and empower people living on the streets to engage with their communities and seek the services and care they deserve. Showers won’t solve homelessness but they can be a first step towards restoring hope, dignity, and a sense of possibility.

These body washes are 100% vegan, cruelty free, and packaged in 100% recycled plastic bottles. The Right To Shower body washes are also sulfate free and made in the USA with American and imported ingredients, including sustainably sourced certified organic aloe vera. They can be used as body soap, hand soap, shampoo, and face wash. Best of all, part of the proceeds from each purchase helps to turn ordinary trucks and buses into mobile showers for people living on the streets.

I was sent two scents to sample: Joy – Tangerine & Honeysuckle and Strength – Red Ginger & Currant. Each of these scents was fabulous in its own way. Joy smelled like a burst of tangerine, sparkling grapefruit, and honeysuckle – sweet, floral and delicious. Strength was spicier and bracing with hints of saffron, coffee, and citrus – perfect for a morning wake-up. I also loved the all-in-one idea – a single product that gave me a fresh, soft complexion; clean, fragrant hair; and was able to be used as a body wash. Plus, you can use it as a hand soap. Best of all was knowing that the purchase of this product will be helping so many people in such a basic and essential way. I plan to be buying this cleanser again and for a long time to come.
