(Preview & Photos) MAC Launches Posh Paradise Collection

Available: September 15th, 2011

M.A.C.’s latest collection speaks of taboo encounters and surreptitious jungle shades. The colors are like Birds of Paradise and succulent, and jungle canopy. There are Mattene Lipsticks and lush Nail Lacquers, as well as semi-matte lips. And then, there are the pearlized Paint Pots for seamless coverage and smooth blending over the lids.

The jewel-like tones are true collectors items. We are lusting over EVERY single shade in the collection (the lipstick the model is wearing is a deep purple, Deliciously Forbidden, a much deeper egglplant version of M.A.C.’s Spitfire from the Wonder Woman collection).

In the above picture, what’s speaking to us the loudest are the nails.

The collection itself talks about hypnotic hues and plush and provocative colors: nothing M.A.C. does is short of provocative (remember Cindy Sherman?), but these shades are like fireflies and jeweled pins from Cartier. They radiate and illuminate. In short, darkly audacious collectibles.

The collection includes:

MATTENE LIPSTICK ($14.50)
Naked Bliss: Neutral light pink
Rare Exotic: Bright mid-tone blue pink
Legendary: Mid-tone brick red
Unknown Pleasures: Deep red blue
Seeds of Desire: Deep brown plum
Eden Rouge: Bright blue-red
Delectable: Orange-beige
Potent Fig: Deep blue grape
Deliciously Forbidden: Midtone berry
Fresh Amour: Light lavender

PAINT POT ($17.20)
Treasure Hunt: Light pearled yellow
Half-Wild: Mid-tone purple
Hyperviolet: Deep violet
Nubile: Light peachy nude
Idyllic: Mid-tone copper bronze
Genuine Treasure: Reflects antique gold
Pure Creation: Mid-tone frosty blue
Imaginary: Blackened navy

NAIL LACQUER ($15)
Immortal Gold: Pale gold
Rain of Flowers: Blackened violet with sophisticated violet shimmer

I’m glad to see that gold nail lacquer is an element in this collection  — after Chanel’s Gold Fiction that debuted in 2008, it is interesting to see a gold lacquer in a M.A.C. collection.
