(Review, Photos) L’Occitane Gloss Lissant Smoothing Gloss for Dry and Damaged Hair

Having gone platinum blonde a few years ago, I have done more damage to my hair than all of the previous years as a brunette. Because of my pesky grey, I go for a single process and highlights regularly. With doing this, I have to be very careful when it comes to the treatment of my hair. I often look for products without sulfates and that are specifically made for color treated hair.

I am lucky in a way to have wavy hair as it can be blown straight or remain somewhat curly. Yes, I had been a victim of crunchy curls in the past…but no more thanks to L’Occitane’s new Repairing Smoothing Gloss. It contains five essential oils: Angelica that softens, Lavender that purifies, Geranium that regenerates, Ylang Ylang that strengthens and Patchouli that stimulates and Strawberry AHA. I am normally not a huge fan of Patchouli, but the scent was very light in the product and almost unrecognizable to me. It does smell good, quite floral like, but not too deep or dusky. The weight of the product is of medium texture and once I applied it to my damp hair, I used it to define my curls. The curls looked more defined and natural without the crunch. You can also use this product on dry hair as a finishing product.

Consumer testing on 24 volunteers over a four week period showed that 92% experienced smooth and frizz free hair, 92% experienced easy to detangle hair, 88% saw noticeably boosted shine, 95% experienced increased manageability and 92% were protected against split ends.

I can see a difference in the texture of my hair and I like that it makes my curls look natural and bouncy.

L’Occitane Gloss Lissant retails for $ 24.00. To see what the current trends for Fall/ Winter 2011 hair are, click here.
