I love a liner that lasts! I am a huge fan of Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner ($20.00) and I am glad L’Oréal is making one in Blackest Black, Navy, Espresso and Dark Slate for an affordable $9.95. I see the gel liners by all of the top brands in the department stores and welcome the mass, food and drug retailers nationwide getting these new L’Oréal launches by July 2012.

I cannot always afford the ones I see in the department stores and applaud L’Oréal, as well as the other brands that are making products for the masses.

This particular L’Oréal Infallible Never Fail Lacquer Liner 24H is an intensely rich gel eyeliner that leaves a glossy, smooth lacquered look instead of a dull, dry finish that other liners may provide. The gliding brush allows you to either make a precise line or a more smudged look for a more dramatic eye.

The formula is soft and silky in feel, smudge-proof and fade-free. Designed to be dipped into the cream pot formula, the expertly shaped brush is flat and slightly tapered for the control and precision needed to create an easy application; lines are much easier to create with such a brush like this. Others sometimes make the line too thick or uneven for me. It also applies the color without skipping, so you don’t have to take too much time when applying it. That’s a practical feature, and for the price, I cannot wait to try the Dark Slate myself!

Will you go for a dramatic smudge look with this gel, or use it to create a precisely defined line?

The pencil looks interesting. I love my Stila gel liner as well but for the price it wouldn’t hurt to try it. Thanks

I’d try it if it were available in plum or purple! Does it stay glossy if you smudge it?

I wonder why Loreal waited so long to jump onto this type of liner. I know the HIP line has a cream liner. “Lacquered finish” makes me think it will be a glossy finish. I hope it’s a deep jet black with a satin or matte finish.

This looks great! I’m planning to pick up navy and dark slate.
