It’s the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards at Nokia Theatre in L.A and not only is the weather there hot (which can explain all the updos), but so are the hair and makeup looks! The red carpet saw two different hair and makeup looks: slicked back updos or flowing luscious locks, to smokey dark eyes or a natural face with dark lips. Read on to see who dazzled the crowds with some of fall’s hottest hair and makeup trends!

Sofia Vegara

Heidi Klum (pictured above) looked absolutely GORGEOUS! She kicked off the evening with her goddess look: flowing, volumized hair, and kept the makeup light on both eyes and lips. Kat Dennings and Sofia Vergara also let their locks flow free with soft, touchable waves and neutral makeup. Dennings looked fab with her full lips on display with barely any other face makeup. Vergara always looks spicy with her mauve-colored lipstick and dark eyes.

January Jones kept her hair pulled and slicked all the way back with her smokey, dark eyes taking center stage. Lena Dunham took the same makeup approach, celebrating her new choppy, pixie-like hairdo at her first-ever Emmys. Ginnifer Goodwin also rocked her pixie cut with the perfect amount of eye makeup: not too dark but definitely defined!

Zooey Deschanel

Hayden Panettiere looked glam and classic in her simple bun updo, while Zosia Mamet from Girls slicked her hair all the way back to have her dark and full brows be her beauty focal point. Sarah Hyland from Modern Family sported a half-up, half-down hair look, having her cascading waves just touching her shoulders ever so delicately. Perfectly sweet. Zooey Deschanel looked just plain adorable with her exquisitely classy yet edgy updo (somewhat reminiscent of the hair look seen at the Korto Momolu NYFW Spring/Summer ’13 show) and retro-looking makeup of bold, red lips and winged eyes.
