I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this mascara! As my almond-shaped eyes were made to look like a feline (I met my last boyfriend by batting my catty eyes, Ha ha) so, it seems as this Maybelline Volum’ Express’ the Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara ($7.47) was made for me! The Falsies Mascara by Maybelline is my favorite mass market brand of mascara, but, I wanted to see just how this formula differs.

First of all, the brush is shaped a little different. It is uniquely bristled (and patented) to extend each and every lash, top and bottom. They claim it amps the volume up to 8x your normal lash.  This unique formula contains jojoba oil, glycerin and palm oil. These ingredients give the mascara a very good slip that glides right on the lash.

Overall, I did like this mascara — it went on nicely and I loved the brush. It did really maximize the length of my lashes. I was somewhat disappointed in the fullness of my lashes — I was expecting full, volumized lashes like the Falsies. If they could marry the Cat Eyes Brush with the Falsies formula, that would be great! So folks, there you have it: If you like defined, smooth lashes this is for you, if you like dramatic lashes I would still recommend The Falsies Mascara.

I have use Colossal for years! If you put on a few more coats your lashes will get really long! I am old school & separate lashes between coats with a Old Dry brush or pin.

I love the shape of the mascara wand. I feel like it grabs and coats my lashes better than a straight wand. I havent tried this mascara I have used others from this line and they haven’t dissapointed me yet. Great review, thanks!

you mention that it would be great if they married the cat eyes brush with the falsies formula– I think they already have! the “falsies flared” version (wings on the package) was already out before cat eyes and I think it’s fantastic! great curved brush.
