Makeup, Skincare Review: Molly Sims Tell Us Her Best Beauty Products

Iconic & an all-around American girl. That’s how you could (and likely would) describe supermodel Molly Sims, who’s graced many a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue and who recently launched her own jewelry line, Gracye by Molly Sims.

Last week, I had the good fortune to be able to chat live with the supermodel and ask her questions about her career, her passions, and of course.. what she’d like for Christmas.

Q: How did you come up with the inspiration to start your own jewelry line?

Molly Sims: I grew up in Kentucky, and I went to several state auctions and my mom collected jewelry. I grew up playing with jewelry from such an early age… I loved dressing up all my girlfriends. Gracye just celebrated its one year anniversary, and it’s just come naturally to me. The line is based on the deco era jewelry, like mixed metals with black diamonds.

Q: Who were some of your inspirations?

Molly Sims: I love the look of Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy because they loved to try new things but yet kept their looks simple and classic. I also love the look Lauren Hutton…she can just wear a tee shirt and jeans and rock it, and of course, Grace Kelly as well.

Q: Since we’re a beauty site, of course we’re going to ask you about your beauty routine! What products/ brands do you love?

Molly Sims: I love a good beauty routine. I love my Beauty Blender sponge because it’s awesome to mix my tinted moisturizer and moisturizing cream to get some terrific coverage. I find that the older I get, the less moisturizer I wear and that’s because it’s not so much the products you use as much as how you apply them.

Jouer Cosmetics is another great brand, and Natura Bisset makes a tinted moisturizer that I’m addicted to. I’m not a big self tanner…I use some tan towelettes. Right now, I’m using Patricia Wexler’s microdermabrasion set and my skin tone is becoming more even.

Q: Tell us some of your favorite anecdotes while you shot the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues. Any do’s and don’ts for people looking to stay slim?

Molly Sims: If you’re trying to get fit, don’t eat sushi before you get into a bathing suit! I really like working out: a good sweat keeps you nice and healthy. I try to cut down on salt and I’m a fan of three day cleanses…they really change your taste buds.

I like White Mountain Bread wraps, Amy’s Organic Soup, lots of protein and eating a lot of vegetables and exercising.

Q: How has it been like to star in movies and TV series and working with some of Hollywood’s  celebrities?

Molly Sims: It’s been great starring in movies like Yes Man and  Benchwarmers …working with Vince Vaughn is really amazing. It’s great fun to work with artists and learn from their work and applying them to your own life.

Q: You’re affiliated with a lot of charities…what is near and dear to you?

Molly Sims: I’m deeply involved with the Friends of El Faro and raising awareness and any type of money we can get to give them basic supplies and necessities.

Q: What’s next in line for you?

Molly Sims: I’m working on the e-commerce part of the site and finding a new TV role…it’s very exciting!

Q: What do you really want for the holidays?

Molly Sims: Honestly, all I want is for people to give a donation to Friends of El Faro–it can be in any amount, but that’s really what I want for the holidays.

If you haven’t yet checked out Molly’s jewelry line…click here! Molly Sim’s eclectic and iconic pieces can be purchased on HSN. Prices range from $75 – $250.

Thank you Molly, for this inspired and vivacious interview!

Good post here. One thing I would like to say is most professional fields consider the Bachelors Degree just as the entry level requirement for an online course. Whilst Associate Certification are a great way to get started on, completing your own Bachelors reveals many doors to various employment opportunities, there are numerous online Bachelor Diploma Programs available coming from institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another issue is that many brick and mortar institutions provide Online types of their diplomas but generally for a considerably higher payment than the providers that specialize in online course plans.
