The best gifts I have received as a mother would have to be the simple gifts, the hand-made items. When my kids were little, they would give me a hand-made card or other “artwork” like a pen that is made into a tissue paper flower. These were so precious. They are adults now, and of course I appreciate the gifts I receive from them now although they are not hand-made. My kids really are my true gifts 🙂

I think the gift that I was most proud of giving my mom was the breakfast in bed @ about 6 yrs. old and a cake that I made when I was about 8.

One of the most memorable things I got my mom for Mother’s Day was a Holly Hobbie Mother’s Day collectible plate – I was super-young (maybe 6 years old?). I saw it in the supermarket when I was with my mom as she went grocery shopping. My mother has that plate (which is very pretty still to this day) hanging on the wall in her kitchen until this day!

My best Mother’s Day gift was a gift card for clothes.

My mom is impossible to shop for. So the best gifts for her have always been those from the heart. She still proudly displays the knick knacks and homemade cards I made her when I was little. Too bad my crafting skills have only slightly improved since then…
