Review, Before/After Photos, Ingredients: AmLactin Alpha Hydroxy Therapy – Body Lotion, Foot Cream: How To Treat, Heal Severe Dry Skin, Eczema

AmLactin body lotion has been used in my home for many years. My mother suffers from severe eczema and dry skin — so much so, she does not grow hair on her legs. I recall her going to the dermatologist and being prescribed a medicated lotion called Lac-Hydrin. Lac-Hydrin (also known as Ammonium Lactate) definitely healed, exfoliated the dead skin and moisturized my mother’s skin.

Old Look

She began looking for an over-the-counter, lotion-type product that was comparable to the Lac-Hydrin prescribed to her. Her dermatologist recommended AmLactin. This was over  10 years ago and this is still the lotion of choice for my entire family.

New Look

About a year ago, I went into my local drugstore and I literally stood by the lotion section, looking for a forest-green and white bottle of AmLactin… for about 15-minutes. Finally,  frustrated, I decided to drive to another drugstore to see if AmLactin was available elsewhere. To  my surprise AmLactin totally revamped its packaging (and yes, they left their formula and ingredients the same!).

Of course, then I realized how dependent consumers are on the packaging of their favorite products, and how depressed and down-in-the-dumps we feel when our favorite product “disappears” off the shelves… And what a great feeling it is when we rediscover our favorite product wasn’t discontinued, it just received a makeover!

AmLactin is an EXTREMELY moisturizing, fragrance-free lotion. It leaves your skin moisturized all day. Although I don’t suffer from severe dry, rough skin, I do use AmLactin Moisturizing Body Lotion to keep my skin hydrated and lightly exfoliated.

AmLactin is a bit pricey (I pay $20.00 for a 20 ounce bottle from Costco), however, AmLactin is DEFINITELY worth every penny. Not only did AmLactin give their packaging a new and improved look, they added these new products to their line:

AmLactin® Moisturizing Body Lotion – available in four sizes:

7.9 ounce bottle with press-cap
14.1 ounce bottle with pump
17.6 ounce bonus bottle with pump (seasonal)
20 ounce bonus size only available at Costco

AmLactin Foot Cream
AmLactin Ultra Hydrating Body Cream (formally AmLactin XL)
AmLactin Cerapeutic Restoring Body Lotion

I will be using EVERYTHING from the AmLactin line — there is no need for me to ever use another lotion. Two thumbs up, AmLactin!

It was suggested to me a long time ago to use Amlactin for my Keratosis Pilaris but it only softened the skin and did not remove the Keratosis Pilaris. I remembered the lotion feeling very greesy. I would live to try it again for my Keratosis Pilaris, eczema, and dry heels.

Yes my skin is terribly dry. My skin cracks. My face dries out during the day if I don’t keep applying oil or foundation. My legs are scaled and eats my oil within a few hours or LESS. It’s been like this for years. I haven’t tried medicated products just vitamin E oil or regular lotions and creams. I would live to try this.
