Actress Kristen Stewart is the face of Florabotanica’s new advertising campaign, shot by Craig McDean. The image features Kristen in black and white with colorful floral vines crawling up her bare back and wrapping around her shoulders.
Florabotanica is a fragrance based on an experimental rose. The scent opens with refreshing notes of wild mint, while the heart is a delicate Turkish rose essence. The scent dries down into vetiver notes and white amber.
The bottle is a couture object that completes the story of a beautiful flower inside a dangerous garden. The highly graphic black and white stripes are a very strong visual element in the history of Balenciaga fashion.

Posted at 15:06h, 02 OctoberI think Kristen is great for this because she has a mysterious air about her that can be used for dangerous roles (such as her vampire role and human-drawn-to-danger-of-vampires-for-love) while still holding the abstract characteristics of the fragility of a rose (hence the “for-love” part) as well as the beauty, because she is a pretty girl. Danger could also relate to her life with whatever mistakes she makes in her personal life because as soon as any celebrity makes a mistake it’s going to be all over the tabloids and that’s dangerous for self-esteem, to name one affect. She looks strong in this picture, though, and it seems that the perfume as well as her stance is symbolic of starting out experimental and frail, but coming into the rest of the world with strength.
