(Giveaway) Top Celebrity Fragrances & Perfumes for Fall 2011

(Giveaway) Top Celebrity Fragrances & Perfumes for Fall 2011

Celebrity fragrances are now a trend, and there are far too many to cover, but here are a few that stand out from the new comer crop:

mary j blige my life blossom

Mary J. Blige My Life Blossom–   My Life was a huge hit when released last year and now Mary J. Blige along with Carol’s Daughter founder Lisa Price have teamed again for My Life Blossom. Available now at www.hsn.com , My Life Blossom is a bright floral of gardenia, freesia, orange flower and jasmine. The base of the scent includes sandalwood, and vanilla.

As with My Life, one dollar from each purchase of My Life Blossom at $ 55.00 will be donated to FFAWN, The Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now.

Taylor Swift Wonderstruck: Taylor is the latest ultra famous celeb/singer to release her own fragrance- Wonderstruck. The name came from her song Enchanted and she has placed it in a bottle that has look of a Middle Eastern bazaar with an Arabian Star, a birdcage and dove charms adorning it.  The fragrance is more gourmand than floral with vanilla as the main theme throughout and freesia, raspberry, honeysuckle, musk, and sandalwood among the other notes.  Wonderstruck will be on sale beginning in October at department stores as well as Sephora and Ulta.

Heidi Klum Shine: Shine is the supermodel’s first fragrance and will be hitting drugstore shelves in September. Rather than the usually fruity floral we often see from celebrity scents, Klum has done a more oriental fragrance made of pink peppercorn, pear and mandarin top notes , mimosa absolute, sunflower, and lily of the valley mid notes and musk cosmone, vanilla and Venezuelan tonka bean at the dry down. . One of the top perfumers in the industry, Aurelien Guichard helped to create Shine and the model specifically wanted something not sweet but feminine and for it to be accessible to all. Look for it at www.riteaid.com soon and visit their Facebook page for a sneak peek video.

Jessica Simpson I Fancy You: The fourth and final scent in her “Fancy” series launching on www.JessicaSimpsonCollection.com  as well as at Macys is I Fancy You, a tribute to first love.   Jessica’s perfumes have always had the prettiest bottles of the celeb fragrance world and I Fancy You continues the style  in a  bottle with shades of blue and silver holding the new fragrance that is  a  light ,  dewy blend of  bergamot ( for a citrus kick in the beginning),  a touch of  pear  and lily of the valley  then drying down to  a light  musky floral.

kim kardashian

Love by Kim Kardashian: As everyone has heard by now, Kim Kardashian is getting married, so she’s got love on her mind. Inspired by her upcoming nuptials 1000 limited edition bottles, numbered and signed, of Love by Kim Kardashian have been made including 200 that will go to her bridal shower attendees. That means there are 799 available for fans to buy.  The fragrance is a feminine floral of freesia, star jasmine, mimosa, tuberose, rose absolute with a base background of musk, sandalwood and orris butter ( iris).  The bottle is encrusted with 450 clear stones and is housed in velvet ring style box. Available at www.kardashianfragrance.com for $ 100.00.

too too betsey johnson
Too Too By Betsey Johnson: While not strictly a celebrity but rather a designer, Betsey will be a celebrity to us. The designer held a special event last week in honor of her 69th birthday, and debuted her latest fragrance, Too Too (she used to be a dancer). We caught up with her at a recent event and asked her about her fragrance inspiration. “I love roses,” she says, so I wanted Too Too to have those notes. When asked about a beauty product she can’t live without, she says, “my lipstick” (her signature red lipstick is everything). The bottle is aimed at fresh, free and high-spirited girls and is a thing of beauty. The fragrance is sparkly and lively with notes of mandarin, sweet passion fruit, ginger and strawberry. The warm heart features Bulgarian rose and jasmine, rounded by the base of patchouli, sandalwood and vanilla.

To coincide with all these new releases , we have  not one but two bottles of Jessica Simpson’s I Fancy You to giveaway. One  here on Beautystat and one over at The  Beauty Alchemist. Please leave a comment here below  and/or at this  The Beauty Alchemist post  with what your favorite celebrity fragrance is. One winner will be  picked from each site.  The contest will close August 30th.  US residents only please. Good luck!

My favorite celeb perfume (at the moment, it changes often) is Reese Witherspoon’s In Bloom. I love the smell, so young and summery! I would love to win Kim K.’s though…. sounds yummy!

My favorite celebrity fragrance is Kat Von D’s and Beyonce’s Heat, along with the LAMB and Harijuku collection. I can’t afford to buy the full size scents, so I go to Sephora when I am in the area, and get as many free samples of the newest scents they recommend! I also like RED and Victoria’s Secret’s Vanilla Lace. I beg my three kids and my mom to buy it for me for my birthday and Christmas. LOL

I love Fancy Nights by Jessica Simpson. Definitely a fall/winter scent – it’s heavier, sexy and deep.
