Bridal Makeup, Nail Polish Review, Hairstyle Trends: The Kelly Faetanini Bridal Show – 2012, 13

I recently got engaged, so I was thrilled when I was asked to cover backstage at The Kelly Faetanini Bridal Show. I had never been to one, so this was exciting on so many levels! When I arrived, all I saw was a row of glorious dresses.  One was more elegant than the next. They were all different and exquisite in their own way. I then spotted the frenzy of makeup artists, hairdressers, models, photographers, etc. getting ready for the upcoming show.  I snapped some pics and vowed to live vicariously through the models for the next hour.

I first met Megan Garmers from MG Hair & Makeup. In the chaos around her, Megan was cool, calm and collected — having everything under control. She gave me a quick rundown of the hair, nails and makeup used for the show. They were looking to go with an au naturel look; the same look I envision for my nuptials, so I was anxious to see and watch the models transform.

The lips were taken care from BITE Beauty . The ingredients were described as being ‘good enough to eat.’  Three of the main products used were Honey Lip Lacquer ($24.00), Lip Shine ($20.00), High Pigment Matte Pencil ($24.00). Some of the ingredients included are pure manuka honey, which is known for it’s powerful antibacterial properties; jojoba beads; an antioxidant Polyphenol Complex that helps with hydration and shine and resveratrol, used in red wine that  works to smooth fine lines and  wrinkles.

The hair products used were from Ted Gibson, a renowned celebrity stylist. Only two products were used to give the models a beautifully coiffed undone looking updo.  The products used were Build It Blowdrying Agent ($19.95) and Beautiful Hold Hairspray ($19.95).

Last, but definitely not least, were the nails. The third largest worldwide European brand named LCN supplied five easy-to-use products to achieve the perfect, yet simple, manicure. The products used were an LCN Natural Nail File ($3.90), 7 in 1 Nail Recovery ($11.90), Nearly Nude Nail Polish ($7.50), Polish Corrector Pen ($9.90) and Polish Seal ($21.90).

The final results were pure perfection. The models looked incredible from head to toe. The hair, nails and makeup met my utmost expectations. Although at age forty-five, I might not be a blushing bride, but with the help of these products I am sure to be a beautiful one!
