13 Apr How To Get the Look at Home: Beachy Hairstyle with Waves and Bounce
Even though summer is not *quite* here, that doesn’t mean you cannot emulate the beachy waves at home. Get the bounce as well as the texture and tousle, minus the sand, with these expert tips from Edward Tricomi of the Warren Tricomi Salon.
Tricomi says,”The salt in beach water roughens hair up, giving it texture and a certain look women love. It’s a great alternative to straightening hair and worrying if it’s going to withstand the humidity and frizz. Getting the look at home without taking a trip to the sandy beach is simple.”
Here’s how to get the look with simple styling products and techniques:
1) On damp hair, spray a volumizing spray on the roots and hairline. The spray will offer lift to the roots and create the correct amount of bounce and volume without allowing the hair to be really sticky (salt water will do that). The spray also will give the hair shine and de-frizz the strands.
2) Use bobby pins and secure hair in loose spirals all around the head.
3) Air dry or blow dry –your choice! Remove the pins and shake out the hair using your fingers. Tricomi’s tip? “It is best to blow-dry hair on high heat for a shorter period of time rather than exposing your hair to medium heat for a longer length of time.”

Posted at 03:40h, 16 NovemberI have terribly stubborn fine thin hair and have tried and spent so much on volumizing, thickening, root lifting creams, mouseses,sprays,lotions and potions. And oh do I have the packed bathroom cabinet to prove it!! From $5.00 ranging to $35.00 for a meager 2.5 fl oz bottle Ive tried em all. Its always tough for me to find something that will give me volume, root lift, general managability and hold esp against the humidity in the summer. A great deal of products worked just as claimed until I would leave the house and my results expired before my eyes.What I have found most annoying about products in this catagory esp the mousses and spray gels is that they make your hair feel coated and gross, then about 3 hrs later your hair looks even thinner and worse that ever because its being weighed down by the product. For at least myself I have noticed most hairstyling products do not help fine thin hair’s apperance at all except for good old fashioned hairspray at the root.
If you think of it hairspray is logically the lightest of hairstyling products with the most hold and flexability. Shielo’s Volume Hairspray realy fits the bill for me.
