How Do You Deal With Reformulations? A Review of Aubrey Organics

“Grow old with me!  The best is yet to be.”  Robert Browning

Some things just get better with age.  Red wine, stories from your fashionista Grandma, a kiss from your true love, and Aubrey Organics shampoo and conditioner.

As a product line that’s been 100% natural since 1967, I have come to put my hair’s trust in Aubrey Organics.  It’s a protein-enriched formula that never lets me down.  I have tried both the Balancing with Glycogen Protein and the Hydrating Blue Chamomile Shampoos and Conditioners (for a recap, see my review here). Therefore, you can only imagine my tresses’ delight when I discovered the two new floral scents:  Rosemary and Peppermint and Lavender Ylang Ylang!

Now sometimes companies try to recreate the old, which in turn can become a complete let down (take the remake of Like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for instance: sorry Johnny Depp, there is no replacement for Gene Wilder).  But don’t fret dolls, that’s not the case here.

With Aubrey Organics, these two new scents are still composed with the same nourishing proteins and shine factors as the originals.  And even though they are created for all hair types, I have noticed that the new products are a much lighter formula.  Meaning it works great on my fine hair, not weighing it down or making my hair pasty like some “all hair type” products can.  The hair care delivers shine and manageability and best of all, this organic line will not drain your wallet.  Each 11oz  bottle will run you anywhere from $10.48 to $10.93/each and can be found at Whole Foods or your local health-food store.

I personally recommend the Lavender Ylang Ylang.  With no sodium lauryl sulfate, don’t expect a bunch of suds when you work the product into your hair.  As you know, those suds are just added chemicals that your healthy bod can do without.  When you use the product, be sure to take a moment to breath in the calming scent of lavender.  In today’s society, we are always on the go.  This line is the perfect way to slow down a moment, as you get ready to start your busy schedule.  With Aubrey Organics, you’ll start with an all-natural floral scent to carry with your healthy tresses the whole day through.

I had no idea that the suds are from extra chemicals in the shampoo…hmm learn something new everyday!

I am currently using these products. They both work very well and lead me to believe the benefits of organic products are not only found in foods, but in all the products we use.
