The hairstyles on the Fall / Winter 2011 runways ran the gamut, but the looks that stood out as the newest and most exciting were 60‘s styles that played with gender norms, from sculpted “bad boy” updos to flirty, feminine beehives. Yes, there were the usual beachy waves, messy buns, braids and ponytails, but the most exciting looks were super slick side-parts that looked modern and clean contrasted by ladylike confections that proved that classics never die.

Boy Hair:

Tight french twists were paired with sculpted pompadours to create faux “boy” looks.

Sculpted Side Parts: These modernist looks used lacquering gels (like Extreme Urushi from Shu Uemura Art of Hair) to create a surface that shines like patent leather.

Lady-like coiffures were roughed up just enough to make them look modern.

I have had the same style for years. I have been feeling horrible about myself lately, and I think a new style will give me a little boost! Making a trip to NYC in November with my friend and to win this would be perfect!

I would love a new hairstyle. Am a single mother of 3 and have bascially had the same style for 25 years more or less.
I have just graduated and am about to start over in a new career . A new look would be amazing. Thank you for your consideration.
