I just used the L’Oreal Sublime Mousse.

Pros: I did like that the foam was very easy to use and I didn’t have to part and section off my hair like with other hair color products. This made the process much quicker. I will probably try this again but knowing that the results are darker than those shown on the box, I will choose a lighter color next time.
Cons: Tried #70 and my hair looks more like the #50. It is much darker than on the box even though my hair was lighter than the photo before I colored. Also, the results are more gold than I like. There was also the smell which was not pleasant to me. Although very faint, I thought it had an odor like that of a soured dish rag. I’m sure after a shampooing or two that will change.

THE MOST HORRIBLE HAIR DYE EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER ENCOUNTERED!

    Tried the L’oreal sublime mousse #53 today….

I followed all the instructions exactly. When I went to rinse it out it felt horrible. Then I used the ENTIRE tube of conditioner and it didnt even help. My hair felt, (feels) like tree bark.

It was so unbelievable and shocking I screamed and started to cry in the shower. I used a BUNCH of other conditioner, and still tree bark. My hair has never felt like that in my life.

I got out and dragged a brush thru it… I little while later I got back in the shower again and washed it 4 times and left some good conditioner on it for an hour. I went and rinsed it again and it helped some, but still barky.

It ruined my hair… I think there needs to be a class-action lawsuit.

Oh, after all that, I still see some silvery hairs. It didnt even cover all the grey. (and i didnt have much to begin with)

I guess the fact that step (or item) #4 has a #3 on it should have been a red flag!

I am so glad I read these reviews.
I had the “Sublime” Mousse all laid out to dye my hair this morning and felt I should look at the web first to see what was being said about this product. I will put everything away and see if I can get my money back. I do not want my beloved hair to turn to straw. And I do not want to use inferior conditioner. I was also concerned (with the Mousse) that you could not color the roots first — then proceed with the remaining hair. I would have had to cut three inches of my hair off. Whew !

I have a box of my usual Loreal Preference in my drawer which I will use instead. #4 Dark Brown to cover my gray roots. Tried and true.

I usually buy Perfect 10 for my hair color, but I saw this in the store and thought I would try it out. I used the Perfect Dark Blonde shade just this morning. I want to first say that the dye alone is high maintenance! You have to be careful when mixing it, you have to keep massaging it so it won’t drip, and you have to leave it on for 30 minutes!! I’m used to Perfect 10 where you just have to leave it on for 10 minutes. The worst part of it all was that it didn’t even come out with a dark blonde color. I am naturally a dark blonde. This turned my hair a very dull, disgusting light brown. There is no shine, highlights, or anything. What a waste of money! Do NOT buy this dye!

It is slightly unfortunate that I didn’t see this thread before I had gone and bought the Sublime Mousse #70. Read a few reviews on Boots, and was happy enough, but what is said here is frightening. But here’s the deal – I’m going to give it a shot regardless, because dark brown instead of blonde hair has got to be better than the utter MESS XXL Live Platinum Blonde made of my hair. First off, the price. €8.99 – a bit steeper than what I would normally pay. But the box looks sassy, makes it look worth the money. What’s inside?
    1. Excellent-fitting, good-quality gloves inside a little egg-tub.
    2. A bottle of deliciously fruit-smelling, silky-white conditioner.
    3. A bottle of developer and colourant.
    4. A professional-looking pump.

All-in-all, the contents looks well worth the money, and I find them encouraging. Time for the application…
    1. Putting this stuff on was so easy – I honestly smiled the entire time. My hair (from the previous botch-up) was half luminous orange/half yellow, so it was unbelievably easy to see what I had covered. The mousse from the bottle was a beige colour, and had the consistancy of fake tan mousse. There is no bad smell at all.

Within 10 minutes my hair had turned to what appears to be an ashy blonde with brownish streaks (probably the orange, which I’d expect no home dye could fix). If this turns out to be the final result, I will personally find a L’Oreal representative and shake their hands.
At the 25 minute mark, I went to the bathroom (where the lighting is strong) and noticed a few patches in the middle section of my hair that I had missed. I simply scrunched the ends of my hair into these sections and got them covered. As a result, I recommend using this dye in a very well-lit area. My hair rinsed out clear very quick, and I took on board what people said about it coming out very dark – so I used a liberal amount of shampoo and gave it a good wash before using the conditioner. I used the entire bottle of conditioner, since my hair was in ruins before I even used this dye. Sublime. That really is the only word I can think of. And now, for the dried and styled result…
Blow-dried and straightened, this is easily the sexiest colour my hair has ever been. All traces of the orange and yellow are gone, and my scrunching completely abolished the patches I missed. My hair looks absolutely gorgeous, EXACTLY the same shade as the model on the box, and it feels reasonably nice (that being down to the bleaching from XXL I’m sure).

    Application – 9/10
    Visual – 10/10
    Texture – 9/10

I would, no I WILL, recommend this to every single person I know to be planning on colouring their hair. Sublime indeed.
