Agent Provocateur Spring 2010 Fashion Week

Agent Provocateur kicked NYC’s Spring 2010 Fashion Week off to a rollicking start with the launch of their new line, Soiree. The high end kinky-with-class collection, including panties studded with Swarovski crystal, call spectacular make-up and hair. Chantal Miller and Pasquale Ferrante answer the call.

Miller wanted the make-up for the show to capture the spirit of the Timeless Woman. “She’s the woman for whom time doesn’t exist,” Miller explained. “She uses liquid eyeliner, and she knows how to do a flawless red lip.”

A strong eye, bearing MAC’s Fluidline liquid eyeliner in Blacktrack and baby blue, olive green, turquoise, and rich gold shadows, balanced out the aforementioned flawless lips in MAC’s Pro Longwear Lipcolour in Ruby Red.

Eyes and lips as vivid as these need perfect skin. Miller smoothed MAC’s new Mineralize Skinfinish Foundation with SPF 15, which affectionately referred to as “celebrity skin in a compact.” For those average janes, for whom time does still exist, Miller advises us to pick our favorite feature and play it up to the hilt.

For Ferrante, sexiness comes from the inside, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to play it up on the outside with a curling iron and hairspray. Lots of hairspray – they used Davines at this show. Inspired by 70s Playboys, the models had their long hair bent around large curling irons and hit with hairspray again and again. Ferrante placed the clipped the newly made curls to the head, let them cool, than brushed them (and the hairspray out) for an undone look that still had tons of texture.

Overt sexiness ruled the day at Agent Provocateur. Not a surprise for a lingerie line, but a nice bold beginning to Fashion Week.
