Here at BeautyStat, we’re pretty excited about Halloween! An excuse to dress up as someone completely different and wear over-the-top makeup and accessories? Count us in! After Wigs.com sent us some Halloween costume ideas with their latest LUXHAIR wig collection, we wanted to create some looks of our own using the new LUXHAIR line! Read on to see what senior editors Nicole Gordon Levine, Erin Sutera and managing editor Theresa Romano come up with in this three part Get The Look Halloween Series.

I had so much fun creating my flapper/cabaret Catherine Zeta-Jones from Chicago look! I had a million ideas in my head of how I wanted to interpret a glam gal from the 20’s. Well, it all started with my wig. Wigs.com had the most perfect Modern Bob ($128.95) wig with bangs from the LUXHAIR WOW Collection from Daisy Fuentes for my look. I actually think it resembles my original hair color (which I haven’t seen since I was 12)!

And all that JAZZ!

First, I prepped my skin with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15 ($52.00). This stuff is amazing! My foundation (Armani Luminous Silk – $59.00) went on smooth to create the perfect canvas. Next up, I prepared my lids with Mally‘s Perfect Prep Eye Primer ($35.00). I made sure to pat the eye primer all over my eye to get a nice light coverage. If you use too much primer, for your face or eyes, it can have the opposite effect — resulting in the makeup smearing. I set my entire face with a powder puff and Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder ($32.00)  Now, with my face done I can proceed with the main part of my look: EYES!

Eyes are my favorite part of my makeup routine; I find doing my eyes as a form of meditation. As pictured below, I started with the Make Up For Ever Black Tango Palette ($45.00). With my finger, I swiped the eggplant shade onto my lids and smoothed it out into my crease. Next, I took the dark purple shade with a brush and brushed it on top of the lid and into my crease for extra definition.

Under my brow, I took the ivory shade from the Make Up For Ever palette and blended. I also layered the pink shimmer shade from the Illamasqua Complement Palette ($45.00). After meticulously blending, I lined my upper and lower lashes, as well as inside my waterline with Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes ($18.00) in Black. After adding the Illamasqua lashes, I brushed on some Smoky Lash ($23.00) mascara from Make Up For Ever.

Next step: CHEEKS! I contoured my cheeks with Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder ($36.00) in Natural. Since I did a dramatic lip, I wanted to keep the cheeks natural, so I used Rimmel Bronzer and Highlighter in Spring Blossom on my cheeks. Last but not least: LIPS!! I lined my lips with Bobbi Brown Lip Liner ($20.00) in Rum and applied butter London LIPPY ($17.00) in La Moss for a chic look!! I also did my nails in the matching nail lacquer from butter London.

As the last step for my cabaret look, I dusted Pure Pigment ($24.00) in Beguile from Illamasqua over my eyes and as a highlight for my cheekbones. So, there you have it! My take on a 1920’s cabaret dame. Timeless and edgy glam.

I Love it! She totally Rocked that look! Very cute idea also, not too flashy, but just right to get all the attention you need on Halloween and the wig looks so real!!!

I am putting together a cute little Native American Indian Costume together and I am going to use my Per-fekt beauty body perfection gel to get that great glow and I am going to go with a nude smokey eye! I have to keep it pg though because I am bringing my 5 year old son out trick or treating, lol!
