In a world where all-in-one products are a huge convenience, we are constantly looking for the latest and best invention that will cut down on our application time, as well as massive amounts of products to purchase.

Susan Posnick once again has something that makes the concept of the all-in-one product attainable and definitely convenient and fun to use.

The ColorEyeDefine ($26.00) pencil is comprised of an angled liner on one end and a self-dispensing eyeshadow on the other that compliments the liner shade.

There are a total of 8 pencils available in an array of colors to compliment most eye colors and skintones. The benefits of using this product include color that stays put and a mess-free application.

My Thoughts After Using The Product

I love the convenience of all-in-one products. I think the color selections they have are absolutely awesome! I sampled the shade Smokey Quartz/Rose Quartz and loved the color instantly.

These particular colors are very complimentary to most skintones, and I think this particular shade would be a great starter for anyone looking to try out these pencils.

My favorite part of the product was the liner — I loved the angled tip because it allowed me to apply with ease to my lower lash line, or apply to my eyelid with just a couple of sweeps to cover a wide area.

The liner is also very creamy and applied with ease, but it did not crease on me, lasting throughout the day with a little fading. I LOVE the color of the Rose Quartz (the shadow side) for summer, but it is also a great color for year-round.

Although, applying the shadow was not as simple and effortless as the liner was: It seemed like I had to work very hard to get the shadow out of the the little dispenser, and because very little came out at a time, I had to reapply several times on each eye to get the desired color payoff that I was hoping for and wanted.

However, don’t get twisted – the color is VERY pigmented and I think that it took a while to get the color I wanted because of the sponge applicator and the minimal amount of product you get dispensed onto the applicator — it is not the shadow itself.

Because of this problem, I noticed that it took more effort to apply the eyeshadow, and it even started to crease because it took so long to apply in order to create an even application.

It almost became streaky at some points; I had to keep reapplying the eyeshadow again and again to get the desired color I wanted. Again, I do believe it is because of the applicator and the dispenser, not the actual eyeshadow itself.

Staying Power

I used my Too Faced Shadow Insurance ($20.00) as my eye primer when using each side of the product. The liner side (Smokey Quartz) lasted for most of the day – approximately 7-hours, with little fading and minimal smudging.

While it is not stated as being water-proof, when my eyes did tear up, it held up fairly well through the day. And when I did touch-up, it did not lend to raccoon eyes.

The Packaging

Sleek and compact, definitely a plus! I think that besides the eyeshadow portion of the pencil, the actual packaging is very compact, which I like.

I love that you can see the color of the eyeshadow through the clear dome of the pencil as well, but the actual applicator (sponge) and dispenser side of the shadow was probably one of the only frustrating downsides of this product.

What do you think of this dual-sided eye pencil? Are you a fan of all-in-one products?
