Makeup Review, Swatches: Cover FX Total Cover Cream Foundation, Pressed Mineral & Setting Powders And Brushes

I heard a lot about Cover FX from makeup artist friends to seeing Kylie Jenner‘s tweet about loving the brand. Word on the street was that the Kardashians wore it too, so, of course, when I was invited to see the new launch of the line I just had to go! As soon as I saw the new products’ clean lines and overall look, I knew I was in for a real treat. The brand not only recreated its already fantastic formulas, but also made their line look more clean and precise. It was both a celebration of their new look and also an innovative product introduction to their expansion of colors in their line.

The best part about the new line was the ease of choosing your color (28 shades are available) — the other products simply fall into place. Out of 28 shades, N25 melted right into my skin. The chemist, Victor Casale, behind the number-one-selling M·A·C Cosmetics product, Studio Fix, is the genius behind Cover FX — and every product I sampled was delightfully light on my face, as well as giving me the appearance of natural looking, flawless skin. At Cover FX, they take your undertones into consideration and have trained their cast members at Sephora on how to help people find their correct color matches.

New concealers

N25 is both the Total Cover Cream Foundation ($42.00) as well as the Pressed Mineral Foundation ($35.00) I will now use. Then, the Illuminating Setting Powder ( $32.00) and the Matte Setting Powder ($32.00) were in the color Light. I was told for full coverage to use the sponge that comes with both foundations, and pat and turn it into my skin using the Cream Foundation Brush ($38) for a lighter coverage. I could use the Powder Brush ($42) when applying the loose powders, too.

I did notice an hour into the presentation that I started to shine and the oil on my face became noticeable. This lovely gent from Cover FX, Brett, then took the Powder Brush (which I later found out exclusively features DuPont ™ Natrafil (R), which is a specially treated, synthetic fiber that perfectly mimics the performance of animal hair without the bristles falling out) and gently swept the Illuminating Setting Powder in Light all over my face. I then glanced at myself in the heavy spotlight… my skin looked awesome! It was even and appeared flawless. To my amazement, a few of the MUAs asked me which products I used, as my pores appeared so small. I did confess that Sunday Riley‘s Good Genes Treatment ($105.00) was my go-to for skincare, but I also told the chemists that I mix my Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer SPF 15 ($52.00) with any foundation  — which they agreed was a great thing to do.

I have seen this line at Sephora but never really stopped to check it out. Seeing and reading your review of these products and how great your skin looks I now need to go and get a couple of things from this line. Great review Nicole

I think it looks really good on you! I have such a hard time (despite trying testing and failing) to stop my face from looking so oily and shiny within almost 2 hours of wearing foundation!

I find that it can be hard sometimes to keep looking flawless and I think that the more that I dig(read posts like this), try and test and share my experiences it can be process worth going through!

I think its really cool that you can just apply the powder with the brush and it snaps your look right into place without being heavy or bothersome!
