17 Jan GIVEAWAY, Makeup Review, Swatches: Drew Barrymore FLOWER Beauty Line – Mascara, Lipstick, Eyeshadow, Foundation, WalMart
I had the pleasure of swatching about 10 out of the 181 products from FLOWER Beauty. At first, I thought I was at a luxury brand event. Not to mention that Drew Barrymore, the creator and founder of FLOWER, as well as the key people from the beauty division at Wal-Mart were present.
None of the products were over fifteen dollars, and they not only looked like a luxury brand, they felt like one too! From the Zoom In Ultimate Waterproof Mascara ($7.98) — that offers three different lash looks by a mere turn of the cap — to the ultimate About Face Foundation ($13.98), which is available in 14 shades, this line is unbelievable as it packs in luxury looks and ingredients at affordable prices.
“The best makeup at any price — from me to you.” is Drew’s quote. She wanted the masses to be able to get quality products for less. They even removed the green from the clear plastics so the true color of the product is seen as clearly as possible.

The rose gold logo got me, of course, because I am in LOVE with that color, and asked them to create a spin-off line with rose gold lips, eyes, nails, etc! This line is going to be known via word-of-mouth, as no ad campaigns are going to be created for about a year. 181 products will be available at over 1500 Wal-Mart stores, yet are available now online by going to www.walmart.com!

I am in love with this line! I see that the money that would normally be spent on ad dollars was put into the actual products and packaging of this line. I wish there was a Wal-Mart in NYC or a FLOWER pop-up shop so my NYC friends could touch and feel the products to see how luxurious the textures are. Thank goodness all is available online. Amen to affordable luxury!

I’m a little disappointed because I’m sure I entered this giveaway because this is the one that I subscribed to the newsletter for to begin with. I’m new here. This line is what brought me to this review. However, I don’t see my comment anymore and I think my entry got lost. Big bummer. I sell high end skin care at affordable prices, and we’ve added a few cosmetics to our line too, but given the cheaper prices, I wanted to give this line a try to have something more inexpensive to refer my clients to when they can’t afford what my company offers. I like to make sure my costumers have what they need, even if they can’t get it from me. I want my clients to be able to tell their friends that I really care about everyone’s needs! I guess I’ll have to try Wal-Mart, but I honestly dread that store personally. I’ll have to order online. It’s a shame Drew didn’t go the direct marketing route with this line, it could have been so much fun, instead she went with Wal-Mart. I’m disappointed about that too.
