In this day and age, everyone is on the go and trying to get to where they need to be – quickly! Beauty is no exception to this rule, and we are always looking for a quick fix to our beautifying needs. Broadway — which, quite frankly, is a name I have been familiar with for years — has developed a revolutionary way to apply nail polish – NO DRY TIME, NO MESS… JUST PEEL OFF AND PRESS ON!

I’m sure many of you have seen the imPRESS Press-On Manicure ($5.99-$7.99) at your local drugstores. I have been passing by the displays for the last year, but since my natural nails are normally long and grow well, I never given them a second thought… and moved past the display each and every time. But, I have had the awesome opportunity to try out this very sleek and trendy product.

Application really was as easy as it stated on the packaging:

– Clean your natural nail (make sure to remove all oils and dry them completely)
– Peel off the tab from the imPRESS nail
– Press on to your natural nail and you’re done!

There is no drying time, no mess and you have awesome, long-lasting shine for up to a week. I did file down the free-edge of the nail so that it was even and looked like a natural manicure. I found that my fingernails are also an odd size (when doing acrylics in the past  this was always the case), so I did have to take a few of the larger size nails and file down the edges so that it would look much more natural.

But, luckily, the set comes with 24 nail covers, in a variety of twelve sizes – so you should be able to find the right fit, or may have to do a little tweaking as I did. The glue adhesive on the nail dries super-quick, and I found this out after making a mistake on a nail and not being able to remove and reapply. I didn’t really consider it a problem, since that also meant it was in place and was not going to budge.

The first set I applied was the Short Length Press-On in the color 130 Control Freak. Since I had trimmed down my natural nails already, it was one step I didn’t have to worry about. However, I did want to make a quick note: If you have nails that are very short — where your skin around your nail bed is exposed at the free edge — I would suggest waiting for them to grow out.

I noticed that while it is still adhered, the nail took a little more effort to apply than the ones that had a little bit of my natural nail exposed — so the press-on would have something to stick to. My broken nail was also the one that came off first before the rest of them started to fall off.

The glue itself does not smell and the colors are so pretty that several people complimented me on my manicure while out shopping. At first glance, they had no idea they were fake! ImPRESS by Broadway offers 18 colors choices and 18 patterns to choose from, so the options are endless and you can have a new manicure every week – sporting the best trends for any season.

Did it last a week? No, it did not last a complete week for me, none of them did, but they did last about 4-5 days (just a few days short of a full week). Let me just say, I was completely amazed.

As a mother of three very active boys,  I have put these nails through the ringer — from washing dishes several times a day to showers and baths, and a very active lifestyle, I really was imPRESSED with how long they lasted.

The shorter lengths last longer than the medium/longer lengths (which only lasted 2-3 days), and I think this is so because the longer nails tend to catch on things a lot more. Also, if your natural nails are super-short, then you may also have some of the adhesive peaking through under the press-on nail. While this may not seem like a big deal, it does catch some lint and other things to the glue that is exposed — those nails may not last as long because it may weaken the adhesive.

Was removing the nails easy? Yes! As Broadway states, there is no need for any type of glue (i.e.: Super Glue), because the nails come pre-fitted with these glue strips on the back. Because of this you do not need any Acetone or need to soak your nails in funky chemicals that you would if you were to do your nails in a salon.

For quick removal there are two ways that you can do so:

1) Peel off the sides of the nail, slowly, or 2) You could apply nail polish remover around the edges, wait a minute and then peel them off.

I was able to peel mine off very easily and quickly. There was a little bit of glue residue from the nail, but that came off very easily with some rubbing alcohol. My natural nails were intact, not damaged and were not sensitive like they would have been if I had applied acrylics to my nails. It was like I never applied anything to them.

Our very own Erin Sutera got her hands on some ImPRESS Press-On nails herself. What do you think? Do you like the short nail look?

Is it worth the cost? The suggested retail price for these are $5.99 for colored nails and $7.99 for the awesome patterns. I have seen them also run up to about $9.00 in my local store. However, seeing that they have worked for me, I would definitely pick these up once in a while if I need a quick nail fix.

I love all the patterns they offer! I have an absolute nightmare of a time keeping fingernail polish on. It just doesn’t last long at all. I have always hesitated trying press on nails because I always worry it will mess my real nails up. Would love to try these! Thank you

My nails always chip and I never feel like I have time to sit in a nail salon to get designs painted on either. This seems like a great way to really spice up your nails – fast, easy and if they lasted 5 days, I’d be overjoyed!

I’m so rough on my hands and fingers. Still, I might give these a try for a special event – the designs are so pretty!
