Makeup Review, Swatches: Lily Herbceuticals Chinese Jade CC Cream Daywear

First, I raved about Rachel K’s CC creams and now, next up on my Asian beauty journey is the Lily Herbceuticals Chinese Jade CC Cream Daywear ($48.00; 1.45 fl oz). A CC cream is very different from a BB cream, being much more refined in texture (lighter) and an essential part of your skincare regimen, bridging the gap between makeup and skincare.

Lily Herbceuticals uses the finest ingredients including fermented Japanese black tea, Chinese Jade extract, vitamin E and more “to aid in achieving an ultimate anti-aging and multi-tasking cream that balances, brightens and evens tone as well as moisturizes and covers blemishes.” This product is also paraben-, petrochemical- and talc-free.

This CC cream is available in two shades: Light and Medium. I was given the Medium shade, and, although it was too dark for my light skin tone, this shade will be ideal for darker, more yellow based skin tones. BB and CC creams usually come in a limited shade range, but for those of you looking for one that will match your yellow/olive undertones, this is the one for you!

The Chinese Jade CC Cream Daywear has a matte finish, blends out evenly and feels light on the skin. It is very long-lasting, as well as having a light, herby fragrance that dissipates upon application.

Although it dries to a matte finish, it does not leave the skin feeling dry or taut — a great alternative to some of the BB and CC creams that leave a dewy coating on the skin. You should definitely check this out if you are looking to try a CC cream for darker skin tones.
