31 Jan Makeup Review, Swatches: Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream – Sheer Color, Hydrates For 24-hrs
I’ve been hearing so much hype about the new BB creams, so I was eager to try the New Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream ($12.99). Olay claims that it will eliminate “blotches and imperfections,” and that it contains five skin-perfecting benefits, plus a SPF 15. They also say that the cream “hydrates for up to 24-hours with a splash of sheer color.”
I used this product a few times and thought it more than lived up to its claims. The cream creates and excellent base for any product you want to add over it (i.e.: foundation, blush, bronzer, powder) — and it is indeed hydrating.
It did a great job on its own too; the coverage is good enough so that you can skip the foundation and go straight to the blush/bronzer step of your routine. And at $12.99, it is very well-priced and delivers a lot of bang for your buck. My sole gripe is about the SPF, which is only 15. I prefer an SPF of at least 30. I hope Olay will consider reformulating this excellent product and upping the SPF.

Posted at 20:26h, 01 FebruarySounds very interesting would love to see if this BB cream would give good coverage as I’ve combo skin which at times seems to be a problem finding the right one other ones I’ve tried seemed too oily for my skin.

I saw the Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream at my local grocery store on manager’s clearance for $3.99 (hello, must buy). I was skeptical because of my problem skin but I was pleasantly surprised. I loved this BB cream. Super easy to apply, great scent. decent coverage and did not irritate my skin (actually my skin loved it). And it gave me a nice “glow”. Definitely not full coverage but perfect for wearing to work or day o day errand running when you do not really want to put on a full face; which I like cause when I use my full coverage foundation I look fake/weird if I do not add blush, mascara, etc. With this product I can even out the rosacea blotchiness without looking done up.
