New Year’s Eve Makeup Trends 2013: Foundations that Shimmer & Sparkle

You have a little sparkle to your dress and a little sparkle to your shoes but have you thought about adding sparkle to your face? Just because the holidays are over does not mean you have to get rid of those Disney-esque foundations and powders. New Year’s Eve is a great time to take the opportunity to add glitz and glamor to your face.

Many of the 2011 Holiday Collections included sparkling foundation, powder and blush.

In the photo above, I am wearing Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing Foundation Primer and Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights in Baked Starburst. The primer adds a great shimmer to your skin and I’ve worn it on my lids several times in replace of shadow.

The award-winning Baked Starburst gives a soft shimmer for those not looking for an overall sparkle.

Clarins Barocco Gold Shimmer Powder gets an A+ in my book for the perfect New Year’s Eve look. For the daring ladies who really want to stand out, this sparkling gold-dust gives a beautiful shimmer when used on your entire face. I suggest applying all makeup and adding this powder as a final touch.

Above, you can see the full Clarins effect. Tell us, will you add a little sparkle to your skin or keep the shimmer to your dress tonight?

The look featured is not sparkle makeup at all,and clashes. Sorry, you missed the point entirely.

Both foundations used show shimmer/sparkle. The first is more of a simple shimmer. The one below which is a powder gives a very noticeable sparkle which is seen in the photo of the eye.

I really like the shimmer powder! You could use it anywhere?
