New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter Beauty: L.A.M.B 2011

Love, Angel, Music, Baby…

Gwen Stefani rarely disappoints, and backstage at the L.A.M.B. show for Fall/Winter was no exception.

Hair: Danilo for L’Oreal Professional

Makeup: Charlotte Willer for Maybelline New York

Nails: Patti Yankee for Dashing Diva

Danilo did six different types of hair designs on the models, for each of the six looks on the runway, from “Buffalo Girl” to “Rastafarian.”

“The inspiration for all the hairstyles was Gwen herself,” he says. There was a glam girl with huge curls at the end, a sort of Vivienne Westwood take. and Buffalo Girls, and boyish updo’s (think Emma Watson’s new haircut).

Danilo used the INOA L’Oreal Professional hair color for the models, and hair extensions and wigs by Jessica Simpson for some of the looks. “In the casting, the Buffalo girls are all Asian girls, and the Rastafarians are all women of color,” he says.

“Gwen herself is doing a very messy updo,” says Danilo. He also employed a gorgeous fish braid on the hair for one of the looks, calling the look “playful.” Danilo used a series of L’Oreal sprays #3 and #4 and a gelee rich silicone gel to create a sheen.

Charlotte Willer for Maybelline created six different looks for the show, and each one employed substantial liner and mascara tricks. We heart this look below:

The nails were done by Patti Yankee for Dashing Diva. To pair the exquisite looks of L.A.M.B., Yankee chose a basic black polish called “Limo Service” for that edgy look.
