23 Feb Review, Before/After Photos, Swatches: Hourglass Cosmetics Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Mattifying Oil-Free
I have to first apologize as my after picture does not do these products justice. I have been addicted and obsessed with how little Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer it takes to create an even tone on my face for months. Tonight, I was introduced to their brand new miracle makeup item for oily skin: The Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation. I was delighted to find that my local Sephora had it on the 15th when it launched. I was delighted by the texture and overall ease of the makeup’s absorption into the skin. It’s also water-resistant. Carisa Janes, Hourglass founder and CEO, created this collection for women who have oily skin. Immaculate is made and designed for women to reduce shine without using powder or any blotting tissues/papers throughout the day. Immaculate treats the skin with clinical levels of anti-aging ingredients and promises to deliver a no shine, no blotting and no powder required look.
All the faces I saw at this event looked flawless, and so did I when I looked into the mirror. I was amazed at how evenly toned our skin, of all ethnicities, appeared under the bright lights provided by Hourglass. This product was not designed for me as I have combination skin, so I was treated to the Veil Fluid Makeup Oil-Free SPF 15, No. 1.5 – Nude, which better suited my skin type.
I do know women with oily skin that have since tried this product and are in love with it — as it’s long-wearing — and they did not see their usual shininess appear after application. One of my friends noted that it was a delight to have a matte finish to her face and wondered if her sister could use it, too!
Artistic Director Gina Brooke (who applied my foundation at the event!) recommends using your fingers or No. 2 Foundation/Blush Brush to apply the liquid-to-powder formula in a downward motion. The water-resistant formula will then stay in place and is ideal for people living in warmer climates.
Hourglass is already known for its luxury brand performance makeup including the Veil Fluid Makeup and Illusion Tinted Moisturizers, which are doing wonderfully well in stores such as Barney’s, Sephora, Bergdorf Goodman.
