Review, Makeover Photos, Swatches: BITE Beauty High Pigment Matte Pencils And Lush Lip Tints

I first learned of BITE Beauty through a Birchbox sample nearly a year ago and have witnessed this brand bloom within the cosmetic industry [Check out another BeautyStat review of BITE Beauty products here!]. Susanne Langmuir is the founder and created the line out of distress over cosmetics derived from petroleum, as well as the poor performance of natural alternatives. She then assembled a team of cosmetic industry experts as she had years of extensive experience directly working with and successfully supplying senior buyers at Anthropologie, ULTA, Saks, Barneys, and finally launched BITE Beauty. The brand offers true performance and great design while using natural ingredients you can… eat!

I had the pleasure of sampling two new shades of their Lush Lip Tints ($24.00) in Tangelo (a shade that is trending everywhere I look) and Cherry. Six shades are available including four others: Lychee, Watermelon, Raspberry and Blackcurrant. Packed with a double dose of resveratol, which is housed in the “B” shape found in the middle of the actual lip tint; these are age-defying lip tints that deliver the antioxidant equivalent to 10 glasses of red wine to regenerate the skin and fight free radicals. The Lush Lip Tints bear the brand’s signature and also contain a soft pearl highlighter in the center to make lips look plump and healthy. I found them to apply easily and they delivered a natural, glossy look to my lips. Both shades kept their color and shine for hours throughout the day.

I am a fan of their High Pigment Matte Pencil ($24.00) and sampled Rhubarb (pictured above) which can also be found in select Sephora stores and at www.sephora.com. I find pencils easy-to-use as they line my lips and fill them in. This pencil had a beautiful tonality to it and lasted for hours. No need to reapply, which made me want to try the other shades. Women apply lipstick an average of five times a day, so the less I need to apply, the more practical I think a product is, plus the pigment is strong and I don’t have to feel insecure as it faded or wore off. That makes it a performance product to me!
