We want to introduce you to professional makeup artist, Karen Scott. Karen is an LA based makeup artist who teaches her clients how to apply makeup. As she puts it “my goal is to have my clients enjoy doing their own makeup like a pro”. Given that, she started her own line of cosmetics. , her mission is ALL women can be their own make-up artist”
As she says “ I created my line of cosmetics with the idea in mind that ALL women can be their own make-up artist”.
As I opened the box of Karen Scott goodies…I was taken by the simple and elegant presentation. Inside was her Touch, Set and Go collection. As a brush fanatic I first opened up her kabuki brush. Very soft and well cut. Next was her Tawny eye/face color. A light peach shade. I am always looking for a new blush shade so i’m excited to try this one. On her website her clients raved about her ability to transform unruly brows, so Taupe brow pencil along with clear brow gel. Next up her Eye Lights Shimmer shadow in Cat’s Eye. A gorgeous shade of khaki and gold. And to finish, Liquid Lips in Nude Plum.
This shade is is a very natural light plum shade. This is how lips should look.
I usually do my eyes first so I was started off with the Eye lights Shimmer Shadow in Cat’s Eye. A little goes a long way with this. I love it! Totally wearable either very smoky or you can pare it down for a softer look. I chose to pair it with a black eyeliner and lots of mascara for the ultimate cat’s eye! MEOW! As I took the brow pencil in taupe I was skeptical due to the shade, however, I was pleasantly surprised at how the shade matched me perfectly. I also loved the texture. Not too hard and not to soft, this brow pencil was smooth and easy. I did like the Tawny blush, but I do think its better for someone a little paler than I. Its a nice shade to hi-light on top of a darker blush. (which is what I did in the photo).
And to top off the entire look I used the Liquid Lips in Nude Plum. This will definitely become a staple in my makeup wardrobe. This gloss is not sticky and has a nice scent. This shade is my lips…only a LOT better!!
Natural, Classy and Elegant…Just like Karen herself! I can live with that!
