(Review & Photos) L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Le Gloss

Remember the time when glosses usually came in the sticky, tacky variety? You tried hard to love them but they resembled a new diet whose promises you so badly wanted to love but couldn’t see them being sustainable past the three day mark.

Glosses have come a long way since then 1980’s when they were going through a phase. Now, brands have taken that “tacky effect”seriously and sought more healing, nourishing ingredients that gave shine and sexiness to the pout, without rubbing off in a matter of minutes.

Words cannot express how much we love L’Oreal’s latest Colour Riche Le Gloss that comes in creamy and pearlescent finishes and in 16 shades. From reds, pinks, nudes to corals, this juicy looking tube looks both high end and immensely attractive, like a piece of jewelry you’d want to show off to your guests. It’s a bit hard to believe that this is a drugstore lip gloss.

When I applied the lip gloss, I noticed an immensely calming effect, and no surprise — that’s attributable to the light vanilla notes. It’s as though your lips have journeyed to a spa. For $7.95 each, Le Gloss encourages you to stock up. In some ways, this gloss is reminiscent of the beautiful packaging behind Lancome’s Juicy Tubes, with its pretty gold foil and lettering (those retail for $18 each).

As far as glosses go, these beauties deliver high shine without looking like you’ve coated honey all over your pucker. The gold cap is also elegant without looking tacky.
