Everyone needs a great set of eyeshadow brushes. I am personally always on the hunt for new eyeshadow brushes. Today I’ll be sharing with you the
Lux Vegan Eye Makeup Brush Set from MOTD Cosmetics (
www.MOTDCosmetics.com). This set retails for $70 and
includes nine of the softest makeup brushes that you’ll ever own.
These essential vegan eye makeup brushes will achieve any look your heart desires. They are made from
high grade synthetic that is designed to mimic natural hair. These makeup brushes also tell you which each one is for.
Each brush is labelled with a witty description that is so memorable, you’ll be a pro in no time!
Now let’s get on to discuss the brushes! Here’s exactly what you get in this awesome set:
Pick Up Line: This is a great thin liner brush. It’s very easy to get a precise wing and liner application with this style of brush. It does take a little practice if you’re used to an angled liner brush but it works beautifully nonetheless!
Just Browsing: This is a great brush to define the lashes with some black or brown eyeshadow. I also think the shape and stiffness of this brush is perfect to clean up around the eyebrows with concealer, if you’re into that kind of look.
No Fudge Just Smudge: This is a great small detail brush. You could use this to apply eyeshadow to the inner corner or even right under the browbone. Of course, it’s also great for smudging out liner or other dark shades on the lid.
Mr. Handyman: This brush is the largest brush in the set. I think it’s great for laying down your base color all over the lid to assist with blending (for me, a cream colored shade). You could also use this brush for concealer or even liquid/powder highlighter. The size is very nice.
Eye Catching Crease: This is the smaller crease brush in the collection. It’s a little more tapered and narrow. This is perfect for adding depth to your eye looks. I like to apply a different shade with the Blending Bestie brush and then use the Eye Catching Crease brush to add the darker color.
Miss Shady Lady: This brush has a very interesting shape which makes it rather versatile. You could apply pigment to the lid for an all over wash of color, highlight under the browbone, or even do a little bit of blending with this brush. I would say this is probably the most versatile brush in the collection, besides Mr. Handyman.
Pencil Me In: This is the softest pencil brush I have ever used! Pencil brushes tend to be a little scratchy in my experience, which isn’t the best thing since often times we are using them on the lower lash line or inner corner. This one is extremely soft and rather stiff but still gives a gorgeous blend to the look.
Blending Bestie: This is the larger blending brush in this set. It’s not overly fluffy so it’s going to be perfect for those of you with smaller eye shapes.
Pigment Packer: This brush is great for packing color onto the lid. It’s not too large but it’s not too small. It’s basically the perfect size and will allow you to blend multiple colors into each other seamlessly on your lid.
All of these brushes come individually wrapped and inside of the gorgeous rose-gold vegan leather canvas bag. The bag has a zip closure and is fairly large in comparison to the size the brushes actually take up. You could easily use this as a makeup bag for your purse or even as a small travel bag.
These brushes are made from Taklon and are cruelty free, vegan, and anti-bacterial. They are good for sensitive skin and eyes. They are extremely soft and can be used with any makeup formula – from creams to powders to liquids to gels.
Overall, I have to say that I am thoroughly pleased with the brushes that MOTD Cosmetics chose to include in this set. I think each brush has a purpose but some of them are great multitaskers as well. This would be a
great set for anyone, even beginners. The labels on the brushes make it easy to determine which brush is best for what application. I think this set is worth every penny of the price.
As you can see from the photos, these brushes are stunning. The handle is a matte black with the text “MOTD” and the name of the brush in rose-gold. The ferrule is rose-gold as well and very sturdy. I think the brushes are very chic and classy. The bristles are a gorgeous two-tone of brown and white. Also something to note, I did not experience any shedding with any of these brushes! This entire set is very high quality! I’m impressed.
