Our loyal BeautyStat writer Nicole Gordon Levine — with the best-looking nails, ever! — continues her review series of the Sephora brands showcasing some of their new products for the summer from the first-ever Sephora Summer Beauty Fair. Nicole attended the event to keep all of us beautynistas up-to-date with the latest and greatest products soon to hit the shelves! Read on to see what Nicole had to learn about some of the new products Sephora by OPI is launching:

Summer wouldn’t be complete without a trendy manicure! I was WOWED by Terri Silacci (creator of the famous snakeskin manicure and pedicure) and the Sephora by OPI GelShine, which is an at-home LED light machine that provides smooth and flawless gel manicures. It is a practical and useful system as the manicures last up to fourteen days.

With an array of top-selling Sephora by OPI nail colors to choose from in gel form, I was amazed. I had done a gel manicure only once and it left my nails rather dry after soaking in acetone for several minutes. I vowed not to do it again as  BeautyStat readers know I normally ONLY wear nail polish strips, yet I let Terri do my index finger in a vibrant, bright red.

After two thirty second increments of the LED machine and two coats later, I had wished I had done all of my fingers. My nail was super-shiny and felt so smooth. The Sephora by OPI GelShine Manicure System ($159.00) will include The LED Light, your choice of GelShine Color, GelShine Base Coat, GelShine Top Coat, GelShine Brush-On Cuticle Oil, GelShine Cuticle Stick, Nail Buffer, GelShine Nail Cleanser, GelShine Lint Free Cleansing Pads, 3 Sets of GelShine Removal Wraps and Sephora by OPI Colour and Gel Remover. There are eighteen shades available of the GelShine itself for $17.50 along with refills of each Sephora by OPI GelShine product that will be available for purchase separately. On the outer package is an instructional video via a QR code which I found very easy to understand. This new product will definitely be the envy of every nail-obsessed beautynista!

i think the companies who end up doing this and selling to the masses are totally screwing us professionals over. bc if they are doing it themselves, then why the hell would a customer pay me to do it? thanks a lot gelish, OPI and any other sell out company doing this to make an extra buck.

Heather….agreed….and who would have thought a professional nail tech (teri silacci) would endorse such a product….what a sellout!!!!

Thank you for your feedback Heather. I just wanted you to know that I believe there will always be people that will go to salons. I do!
I see both salons and spas opening and thriving all over. I love the personal relationships I have at my local salon. Just wanted to thank you again for your feedback.
