(Review, Photos, Swatches) Bobbi Brown Launches Limited Edition 1991 Lip Palette

“Lipstick is one of the simplest makeup steps and great way to instantly change your look.” — Bobbi Brown

I always feel naked when I leave the house without lipstick on. Bobbi Brown’s Limited Edition 1991 Lip Palette came as a savior to me lip situation, last week, with its combination of 1991 and 2011 Exclusive Colors.

Bobbi Brown took to making her own lipsticks in 1991 because she was discouraged by the lack of flattering lip colors; so in 1991 she created 10 lipsticks that had a brown base, and in her opinion a brown-based lipstick is the most natural complement to a woman’s skin tone.

The Limited Edition 1991 Palette she just debuted is an absolute gem and a must purchase for anyone serious about their lipstick collection. It features not only the original ten lipsticks, but also ten new bright and modern wearable colors.

Here are the 1991 colors (we also tell you which ones we swatched):

  • Salmon
  • Beige
  • Raisin
  • Brown
  • Rose
  • Pink
  • Orange
  • Blackberry
  • Burnt Red
  • Red

New 2011 Exclusive Colors

  • Coral Gables
  • Lady Ruba
  • Berry Punch
  • Hot Berry
  • Watermelon
  • Atomic Pink (swatched)
  • Party Pink
  • Cosmic Lily (swatched)
  • Pink Martini (swatched)
  • Candied Red (swatched)

This is what you see when you open the palette: the 2011 colors

If you open the second tier, you’ll see the 1991 colors as well

From left to right: Cosmic Lily, Atomic Pink, Pink, Pink Martini, Candied Redall 2011 exclusive colors. The look is glossy without being too vinyl, and not too sheer. I love how it goes on on the lips because it’s a tad bit hydrating. I would still recommend you exfoliate your lips and moisturize before you apply

The retail on this is $60 — yeah, I know, it’s steep! But like with anything associated with Bobbi Brown, it is a work of art, a true museum piece. I carry mine in my purse, so proudly.

What do you think about Bobbi Brown’s palette? Yay or nay?
