Review, Swatches: butter London Autumn/Winter Bespoke Nail Polishes – Lacquers – From The Catwalk

I don’t normally wear polish — as many of you know, I am a nail polish strip lover — yet, these butter London nail lacquers are simply flawless when applied! They were all easy-to-apply due to their small and steady application brush, and I also noticed that the second coat really made the color pop. I now see why butter London is in Sephora shops, and is one of the U.K.’s leading nail polish suppliers. They are simply gorgeous!

Sequins, velvet, satin and tweed! This season the runways were abundant with rich textures, so this new collection is no exception. Glitter particles have been infused into this collection to give the colors both dimension and depth. There are also holographic and metallic finishes as well. I think that is why I was drawn to the color Trustafarian (a golden holographic finish to a sage green; pictured above), which after sampling… finished both hands and actually tweeted the finished look (check out my tweet here)!

I also sampled Gobsmacked (a heavily pigmented charcoal gray loaded with glitter, and is a shade like I have not seen before; it has texture as well!) and Lovely Jubbly (a vibrant magenta flecked with red, blue and gold micro-particles that channel a retro feel to it, as it’s a bit “disco diva”). There are also two other colors: Shag (a high-shine metallic in a warm orange burgundy hue) and Dodgy Barnett (a highly holographic shade that blurs the line between gray and silver). Available at www.butterlondon.com, butter London 3 Free Nail Lacquers ($14.00) are known for being free of formaldehyde, toluene and DBP. I believe that this company is one of the go-to brands for high fashion colors. I know they work with designers to custom blend nail colors for their shows, too.

Fact: butter London is a backstage staple at Fashion Week having created the nail looks for shows including Victoria Beckham, Calvin Klein, Betsey Johnson and Yigal Azrouel.
