Review, Swatches: Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Sticks

Clinique is a classic cosmetics line that always has amazing products. So, it was no surprise to me that I really enjoyed the Chubby in the Nude Foundation Sticks, $24.

The Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick is perfect for taking with you on the go because of its convenient design. It is a creamy, moisturizing foundation stick that blends into your skin easily. It builds from sheer to moderate coverage while giving you a natural finish. It is also long-wearing and oil-free.

The shades shown below are: 06 Intense Ivory, 08 Grandest Golden Neutral, 09 Normous Neutral, 15 Bountiful Beige, and 28 Curviest Clove. There are 10 total shades available in this line. In the photograph, I am wearing Intense Ivory. I have no other makeup on at all but the Intense Ivory Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick. (This means nothing at all, literally, not even concealer.)

Clinique’s website directs you to draw several strokes of foundation across your forehead, cheeks, chin, and down the bridge of your nose. For sheerer coverage, Clinique recommends you use your fingertips to blend to a seamless finish. For moderate coverage, they recommend you use Clinique’s Buff Brush to buff the foundation into your skin using light, circular motions.

These foundation sticks are very easy to use. You simply draw the foundation on your face where you want it. You do not need to apply any sort of pressure whatsoever because the product is rather creamy and transfers onto the skin easily. I used a flat topped blending brush to blend the product out. I didn’t find it difficult to blend at all. The finished result was a medium coverage foundation that didn’t look powdery at all and really blending into my skin nicely.

For areas where my skin was a little redder or I felt I needed a little extra coverage, I simply dabbed the foundation on those areas like I would if it was a concealer. It builds up quite nicely. I didn’t feel a need to set this foundation with a powder at all.

Overall, I love the convenience that this product has. It’s much easier to transport with you because of its design. It’s not a liquid so you don’t have to worry about it spilling or making a mess. The price is nice too! For $24, this is a more affordable high end foundation that won’t break the bank but looks amazing on your skin.
