Seems like everyone is getting naked lately. From Kim Kardashian’s glistening derrière to Chelsea Handlers’ constant battle with Instagram to keep her topless pics perkily available, no one seems to be able to keep their clothes on. Well, if your prudish ways have you clutching at your cardigan’s top button, then don’t worry. Get naked with makeup!
And no, this is not the “no makeup” makeup look we’re talking about. The Urban Decay Naked line has given us a beautiful collection of bb creams, contouring palettes and then some. So, Urban Decay listened to their fans, and created the Naked2 Basics Palette to feed their appetite for MORE matte shades.

The FIRST matte palette for the brand proved to be a major success. Six gorgeously matte shades made this little palette a staple in many makeup bags. The eyeshadow’s buttery texture is in part thankful to the Pigment Infusion System™, which gives it its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability.
Inside you’ll find Venus (a soft, off-white demi-matte), Foxy (cream bisque matte), Walk of Shame (very light nude matte), Naked2 (taupe matte), Faint (warm, dusty brown matte) and Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte).
Feel free to blend together or wear alone. The pigment in this first matte collection is very opaque. You can see from the swatch just how matte the darker shades can be — with the lighter hues holding a slightly satin sheen to adorn your lids. You’ll still get a matte-looking eye with a little glisten that never hurt anyone.
Onto the latest matte palette creation: Naked2 Basics Palette. Five never-before-seen shades are cooler in tone than the original. Six taupe-hued matte neutrals can work on any skintone from cool to olive complexions to darker skin.
What you’ll find is Skimp (a pale nude satin), Stark (nude-pink matte), Frisk (warm gray matte), Cover (muted red-brown matte), Primal (muted brown matte) and Undone (deep, smoky brown matte). The color payoff is slightly more subdued in my opinion than the original shades, giving you a dusty washing of matte color. The buttery texture glides across lids ever-so-smoothly (just like the first palette) with just the right amount of color that fall more in the gray category. The only question is: Which Naked palette do you prefer?
