Are you ready for the Pantone 2018 Color of the Year? It’s Ultra Violet! A dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade, Ultra Violet communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future. Today, I’ll be sharing with you some Ultra Violet products that you’ll want to be sure to check out! Stay tuned towards the end for swatches and looks using these products.

Catrice Cosmetics Deluxe Eyeshadow Trio | $6.99

This eyeshadow trio contains 3 perfectly harmonized shades with a baked texture. The trio claims to have intensive color payoff for a long-lasting look. The shadows have a rich, shimmering finish. These are also paraben free and not tested on animals! There are three shades available: Antique C’est Tres Chic, Meet The Gemstones, and Rose Vintouch.

The trio that I have is Rose Vintouch. You get a gorgeous pale champagne shade, a muted plum and a more vibrant purple. All three of these shadows are shimmery in finish. The champagne shade is perfect for the inner corner, brow bone, or even lid. The plum and purple shades are great for lid colors, crease shades (even though they are shimmery), and for smoking out the lash line! The great thing about baked shadows is that you can wet your brush with some setting spray to intensify the color payoff, or use them dry for sheer washes of color. Catrice Cosmetics Prime & Fine Multitalent Fixing Spray | $7.99

…look no further! This setting spray is a lightweight and quick drying mist that improves makeup wear and provides a flawless, long-lasting finish. It can be used as a primer, a setting spray, or a makeup refresher throughout the day. It is suitable for all skin tones and types, paraben free, and not tested on animals!

I’ve tried a handful of setting sprays and I have to say, I think this one is my favorite! It’s super affordable too which is a plus. I have been enjoying applying this spray before any makeup and then finishing my makeup with the spray as well. It helps take away the powdery look and aids in longevity of wear of makeup! I notice the oils on my face seem to be better under control when I use this product.

DHC CoEnzyme Q10 Eye Cream | $39

This luxurious eye cream addresses fine lines and crow’s feet in addition to hydrating the eye area with Vitamins A, C, and E. It easily absorbs for layering over additional treatments or even under your makeup. Here’s a swatch to show you the texture of the product.

As you can see, it’s fairly thick in texture. It absorbs easily into the skin and leaves the eye area feeling smooth and hydrated. I don’t have very many fine lines or wrinkles at this point in time but due to the colder weather, I have noticed my eye area has been extra dry. This can cause my eyeshadow to look patchy in areas because of the dry skin. This product has really worked nicely to help heal those dry patches. It’s light enough to use during the day underneath my makeup but it really packs a punch so it’s still perfect for evening use as well. You can purchase this product on Amazon.

Bed Head On the Rebound Curl Re-Call Cream | $20

TIGI’s curl recall technology instantly reforms, ensuring flattened, collapsed curls that are able to spring back into shape after just one scrunch. It provides maximum curl retention that protects hair from humidity, helping to ensure defined curls and ringlets. TIGI recommends distributing this product evenly onto damp hair and diffuse, or air dry for touchably soft, defined curls.

I have somewhat curly hair naturally myself but not super curly. On occasion, I wear my hair down and let it air dry and do it’s natural thing. However, my daughter has very tightly curled ringlets. I have been putting this product into her hair after it’s been washed (towel dried to be damp). It keeps the frizz down and really keeps the hair soft. It doesn’t get crunchy or make your hair feel sticky either. You only need a little bit of this product as it’s very effective. Deborah Lippmann Gel Lap Pro Nail Polish | $20

Get the gloss of a gel mani without stepping into the salon with this nail polish! Its innovative contour brush features 320 bristles to evenly coat each nail for a smoother finish, and it has a rounded tip that follows the nail shape for easy application. This dual-patented formula is enriched with 10 active ingredients to help deliver the gloss and cushion of a gel mani without the damage. It’s formulated without parabens and sulfates, is vegan and cruelty free, and is a seven-free formulation that’s free of formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, DBP (dibutyl phthlate), camphor, xylene, and diethylhexyl adipate. (Don’t worry, I can’t pronounce most of those either.) Deborah Lippmann brings her nail authority and unique color vision inspired by her extensive works with top designers, photographs, celebrities and New York Fashion Week to every product she creates.

The shade that I have this in is called Purple Haze and it’s a great shade for the season! I love deep shades of polish, especially purple. This product feels and wears like a high-end nail polish. I know most people probably don’t think much about the brush that comes with nail polish but I really notice when the brush is high quality. This brush makes it easy for you to paint your nails, especially if you’re a novice like me. I’ve noticed I can wear this polish for about 10-12 days before I start experiencing significant chipping. That’s pretty darn good in my opinion! This polish comes in a variety of creme finishes as well as some shimmer finishes.

Essence Volume Stylist 18hr Lash Extension Mascara | $4.99

This mascara transfers the best hairstyling trends to your lashes – lash extensions! The special braided design of the cap has never been seen before. Enriched with lengthening fibers, this styling mascara provides an 18 hour long-lasting volume effect and ensures fully extended lashes. The fiber releasing brush has the perfect shape to reach even the smallest lashes!

I’m not sure if you can tell by the photo, but there are little fibers suspended within the mascara formula. They grab onto your lashes as you apply the product and provide really nice length. The brush is a natural bristled brush (which are my favorite). The formula is slightly on the drier side and a little thick, so if you’re not a fan of more wet formulas, you’ll really like this. I wore this for at least 12 hours and didn’t notice any flaking, smudging, or smearing. There were absolutely no clumps during the application process either. This is a great mascara for a great price. Essence products are also buy 1 get 1 50% off right now as I’m writing this on the Ulta website.

Essence Water Kiss Glossy Lip Colour

This water-based lip gloss has a texture that feels pleasantly light on the lips and creates a wet-look effect with medium colour-intensity. It comes in six gorgeous shades: Mermaid Diary, Aquatic Chic, Underwater Beauty, Ocean Girl, Hydro Star, and Deep Sea Love. I think the names are super cute and fitting to the theme of the “water” gloss! The shade that I have this in is Underwater Beauty.

I like the formula of this gloss. It’s very glossy at first but then it sort of “sets” into the lips and creates a bit of a stain effect. It is not sticky at all but rather very comfortable to wear throughout the day. Naturally, since it is a gloss formula, you will have to reapply throughout the day as it will wear off from drinking, eating, and so on. It has a light fruity scent to it which I really enjoy. If you’re sensitive to scents, I don’t think this one will bother you as it isn’t very strong and it isn’t detectable after you’ve applied it to your lips. I would recommend this if you’re looking for a good everyday shade that isn’t too pigmented but will still give your lips some tint!

MODA/Royal & Langnickel Quick Contour Brush | $7.99

This patent pending brush allows you to apply highlight and contour at the same time as it is a unique divided brush. It comes from a beautifully bold, 100% vegan line that includes water-resistant acrylic handles with a Silk-Touch coating for ultimate durability and ease of care. There are 36 brushes in total in this line.

Okay – I must say two things. First, this is one of the cutest brushes I think I have ever seen. From the handle to the ferrule to the bristles to the shape – everything about it is so stinking cute. Also the texture of the handle is very unique. It’s soft and silky feeling – Silk-Touch coating is the perfect name for it. The bristles are extremely soft. The cut of the brush is truly perfect to contour and highlight at the same time so this would be great for anyone who needs a multitasking product to get ready quickly in the morning! The dip in the brush hugs your cheek bone which allows the lower portion of the brush to apply contour and the upper portion of the brush to apply highlight. Very interesting and unique brush! I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it. If I didn’t know, I wouldn’t believe this was an affordable brush because it certainly feels luxurious.

MODA/Royal & Langnickel Total Face 7 Piece Brush Kit | $19.99

This brush set is great for travel or home use. The smaller purple face brushes stay organized in the accompanying travel case. This synthetic brush kit is available in 6 different colors. The neat thing about this brush case is that you can fold it in half to convert it into a “brush stand” for ease of access. Because the case closes and protects the brushes, it’s great for travel too!

As you can see, these brushes have the same cute design as the previous one. They are all equally as soft. The powder brush is the perfect size for not only powder but also brush and even bronzer. The foundation brush is your typical paddle style brush (which I also like to use for under eye concealer, too). The angled liner brush can easily double as a liner brush or an eyebrow brush. The dense eye brush is great for applying color into the crease while the other more fluffy eye brush is great for blending or applying a base color. Lastly, the lip brush – perfect to create those sharp lip lines and even lip contouring! (Yes, that is a thing!)

This is a great little travel set or even an affordable set for someone just getting into makeup – or even yourself if you’re looking to expand your line with some high quality brushes that won’t break the bank.

DeoDoc Deospray Intimate | $22.50

Just as sweat glands exist in the armpits, they also exist in the intimate area. That’s why DeoDoc has developed a pH-balanced intimate deodorant that helps neutralize odor and leaves a fresh feeling all day. It’s no wonder why they call it refreshment in a bottle! This product is suitable for daily use, too!

There are three scents available: Violet Cotton (pictured), Fresh Coconut, and Jasmine Pear. I really like the scent of the Violet Cotton. It smells fresh and isn’t overpowering. This product is gentle enough for intimate areas of the skin and doesn’t cause any sort of irritation.

DeoDoc Deowipes Intimate | $15

These pH-balanced deodorant wipes help neutralize odor and are also cleansing at the same time. This makes them perfect for when you are on the go and in need of a quick freshening up. They are individually wrapped to provide convenient use.

There are three scents available: Violent Cotton (pictured), Fresh Coconut, and Jasmine Pear. As I mentioned before, I really like the Violet Cotton scent. I love that the wipes are individually wrapped so you can easily pop one or two into your purse for on-the-go use. There are 10 wipes in total in the box so that puts them at around $1.50 a piece. I don’t think that’s unreasonable for a high quality personal care product. I didn’t experience any sort of irritation from using these products and think it’s a great option for those who need to freshen up on-the-go or even for restroom breaks!
