Review, Swatches: Avon Ultra Color Indulgence Lip Color – Best Long-wearing Lipstick
The new products from Avon‘s Mark line have a fresh, vibrant feel which broadens the veteran company’s audience – allowing them to appeal to a younger crowd. The products are all very well priced and displayed in the prettiest of packaging. I checked out some limited edition products from the spring line to sample.
First Blush Face Compact, $16. This pretty compact combines three shades of pink that I used together, applying with a big, fluffy brush. It gave me a very attractive wash of pink color with a nice satin finish. I appreciated the long-wearing formula as well.
Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes All Over Face Palette, $16. The nine creamy cubes in the Coral Glow palette, (below left), range in tone from coral to bronze to gold. The company mentions that, “the raised cubes allow a fingertip to easily run over individual shades” and they recommend placing color on cheekbones or elsewhere on the face as a highlighter. I used a big, soft brush to sweep across the different shades and then ran it across my face – the texture was velvety, and blended well. It created an instant, sun-kissed look. This has more peach-bronze cast than the blush, and will be great come summer. And the compact size will make it easy to toss in your tote.
Spring Fling Eye Shadow Palette, $15. A trio of pretty colors – two pinks and a coral – that are perfect for spring. They have a little bit of sparkle but not too much. I used them dry for a fresh, natural look and added a little water for a touch evening glamour. Both worked very well. Nice colors in an easily blended, long wearing formula.
Get It Together Lipclick and Nail Lacquer Set, $24. This was a fun idea – a lipstick with a nifty magnetic closure (it’s called lipclick) in Coral Fixation and two nail colors – coral, to coordinate, or gold, to glam it up. Lipstick was a great, go-with-everything neutral, with just a hint of shine, and the texture was just right – not too greasy, not too dry.
