Review, Swatches, Shades, Before/After: Maybelline Master Strobing, Contour Stick, Primer

For all of you “no-makeup, makeup” beauties out there — this one’s for you! The highly anticipated Maybelline contouring collection is here — but it’s far from drag queen!

First, prep your skin with Facestudio Master Prime primer ($9.99), which preps for even makeup application. These three water-based primers are formulated for specific skin concerns. The lightweight and non-oily formula visually blurs skin tone imperfections, as it smooths fine lines and helps makeup stay put. The formula does not clog pores.  Blur + Illuminate 200 has a dewy, velvety consistency and pleasant scent. It leaves a slight sheen on the skin, perfect under foundation to give your face a subtle glow.

Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick ($10.99)  contours and highlights in two easy steps. But fear not, it’s not as thick and cakey as it would seem. This 2-in-1 stick creates the illusion of structure and lift in two easy steps. It comes in three shades, Deep, Medium, and Light for your perfect color match. I tried the Light formula.

Step 1. Apply dark shade along the jawline, hallows of the cheeks and sides of the forehead, and blend well.

Step 2. Apply light shade to the high points of the face, like the tops of cheeks and bridge of nose, and blend well. Once you blend in the formula, harsh lines disappear and subtlety shape the face. If you’re a simple lady, this step will be enough, if you desire harsher lines, you may need to go over with a powder formula.

Master Strobing Stick Illuminating Highlighter Face Studio ($9.99) is an illuminating highlighting stick that adds targeted dimension to the face for the ultimate strobe effect. Light-Iridescent is a pink/pearly shade, best for lighter skin tones. Medium-Nude Glow is a golden shine, great for tan/dark skin. The creamy formula with micro-fine pearls combine to boost skin glow. Add to the high points of the face.

Step 1. To enhance cheeks — highlight top of cheekbones.

Step 2. To accentuate features — spotlight center of face.

Step 3. To brighten eye area — spotlight brow bone and inner corner.
