Women’s Health 5th Annual Beauty Awards (Selection Process & Sweepstakes)

Each June, Women’s Health magazine puts out its “Best of Beauty” issue. For several beauty magazines including Allure and Cosmopolitan, the “Best of Beauty” issue is typically in September, but a summer launch date coincides with the time most of us are outdoors, eager to get into tiptop shape.

This year, with the help of the magazine’s readers and a panel of dermatologists, stylists, colorists and makeup artists, the editors of the magazine weeded out the gold nuggets from the rest.

Here is how the magazine’s selection process works:

Readers: To get feedback from people like me and you, a readers’ ballot is posted on WomensHealthMag.com. This ballot addresses 28 categories across hair, makeup, facial skin and body.

Experts: The experts have to go through the same process vis a vis the ballot, but get category options  tailored to their specific area of expertise.

Editors: The Women’s Health editors are responsible for choosing the best new products on the market (the time frame for product launch consideration is between January and June 2011).

BeautyStat admires many of the 68 products that made the cut in the June issue of the magazine, which hit newsstands on May 24th. You can check it out here.

Some products we love that were picked include the RoC Multi Correxion Night Treatment ($25), ProActiv Refining Mask, and Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting Cream. We’re still swooning over Degree’s mind-boggling Motion Sense Deodorant and Dove’s Deep Moisture Nourishing Body Wash.

Take a look at the full list and even win the entire loot, here.

Tell us, do you agree with the editors’ picks? Which ones of these are your faves?
