RETINOL
It’s the most effective wrinkle smoother — made smarter. “Since this form of retinol is time-released, it could be less irritating and more effective,” says cosmetic chemist and founder of BeautyStat.com, Ron Robinson.
SAFFRON
Some Indian brides rub this spice, which has a yellow-orange pigment, on their faces to glow at their weddings. The small amount in this serum “will help give skin a subtle golden sheen,” Robinson says.
PEPTIDES
Tiny chains of amino acids penetrate skin and increase collagen production. The 3 percent concentration in this serum may lift and firm skin after a few months says dermatologist Amy B. Lewis.
TRIPHALA
“This Ayurvedic remedy contains alma, a rich source of vitamin C,which can brighten the skin – but we don’t know whether this works, since it hasn’t been tested adequately,” says Lewis.
