Review: L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Bottles “Gene”ius & the Promise of Eternal Youth

Watch out, Lancome! Genefique has a new competitor in town, and it’s hitting the shelves of drugstores in early January 2011.

L’Oreal Paris’ research that is 10 years in the making that has finally resulted in a stable skincare collection that uses a special kind of technology called GenActiv Technology; this is clinically proven to repair gene expression, empower the skin to recover faster after aggressions, and unveil younger-acting skin.

There are four products in the Youth Code Collection:

a) Serum Intense ($24.99)

b) Youth Code SPF 30 Day Lotion ($24.99)

c) Night Cream ($24.99)

d) Youth Code Eye Cream ($24.99) with a gentle slanted tip applicator

There’s also a Youth Code Clinical Strength Starter Kit that contains the Day Lotion, Night Cream and Eye Cream for $34.99.

Since we just got our paws on these beautiful gems, we really haven’t begun to see any major results yet, but I will say that I LOVE the texture of the serum. It’s silky and lightweight, just as a serum should be, and you can easily use it as a primer.

The serum is meant to be applied twice daily to clean skin, as are the Day/Night Cream and the Eye Cream. The Eye Cream is best layered over the serum.

All these products, as we mentioned before, will hit shelves in early January 2011. The best part is that they’ll work overtime to clear your skin up from any of the holiday party aggressions your skin might be going through. Seriously, what’s NOT to love?

We’re dying to know if you’re going to line up to get your beautiful hands on these goodies, just as people did for the Genefique line. When it comes to the price points, of course, L’Oreal wins hands down…but we want to know what you think.

Will you plunk down your spare change in January for the promise of youthful skin? Or goes “gene” technology simply not do it for you?

I will definitely be trying out these products when they hit the shelves, any idea when they will be in the UK?

I am just realizing the importance of truly taking care of my skin, but have found so many of the products are very pricey. Therefore, I am skeptical about just giving any new product a try.

I am glad I have found a site that does some of the research for me so I am not throwing money away on skin care products that don’t work.

I will definitely be giving this new product try.
