Post Holiday Skin Fix: YSL Beauty Sleep Radiance Revealing Concentrate Review

A touch of fragrance on pulse points. Highly evocative red lipstick that’s so “Come Hither.” All over body powder shimmer…

Yes, every drop dead gorgeous pinup girl has had her beauty secret, and now Yves Saint Laurent is letting you in on theirs. Among the delicious heap of golden offerings including the Touche Eclat comes a heavenly ebony tube that’s essentially a post-party “pick me up”: Beauty Sleep.

Beauty Sleep is a Radiance Revealing Concentrate that promises a bright new skin effect. YSL claims it a worthy heir to their Flash Radiance Skincare Brush (pictured above).

After late party nights and several glasses of wine and champagne, the skin is so flushed and the wattage of makeup applied several hours ago simply doesn’t seem to hold its luster. Beauty Sleep is like a quick fix, an elixir that you apply on your face instead of drink. It’s a true SOS product that focuses on regenerating the skin at night to give your skin radiance and to replump and retexturize.

Think of it as a primer for post party nights and enabling you to look fresh and perfect to face the day. The dual peel and plumping action of the clear concentrate really gives you the incredible smoother, calmer, fresher look. The idea is to use it on a daily basis for at least four weeks for a more luminous complexion.

I tested the product by applying it the day after a brief night’s rest, and I felt my skin stinging a tad bit. This was because I did not really have that much moisture on my skin — my hydration habits have started slipping and the effects show. So, if there’s a word of advice I can give to my beauty girlfriends out there, it’s to use Beauty Sleep with an extremely balancing and calm moisturizer because this product can be drying.

I’m all for the Bright New Skin effect, but layer with a moisturizer and then follow up with the Flash Radiance Skincare Brush in your specific color for an “I really got Eight Hours of Sleep” effect.

Check YSL.com soon for the Beauty Sleep Concentrate; currently the Palette retails for $69.
