(Review, Before/After Photos): C.O. Bigelow Mentha Tingling Foot Cream and Chapped Hands Remedy

Since the colder months are around the corner, it’s time to stock up on necessary items. I don’t mean food and snacks, but remedies that fix dry skin.

C.O.Bigelow, the country’s oldest apothecary, really knows its formulations. From the Mentha Tingling Foot Cream to the Chapped Hands Remedy, each product is carefully numbered, and the presentation is so “apothecary.” The only thing you’re not getting is a doctor in his lab coat writing out prescriptions.

Geeks that we are, we love the presentation and packaging — it really fits the brand.

We had the opportunity to review two products that are included in this giveaway.

The Chapped Hands Remedy is a sleek portable tube that is super cute. Its formulation containing 40% glycerin makes your skin hydrated within minutes. For $14, this is a winter lifesaver. Take a look at the before/ after photos below (we also love that it’s TSA friendly at 1.7 oz):

The Tingling Foot Cream contains 2.25% Peppermint Oil and comes in a sleek green tube that’s a perfect stocking stuffer. It also contains aloe vera, so you can use it to soothe tired skin especially if you’ve been out in the sun. The best way to use this is to wash your legs and dry off with a towel before you apply this all over.

It’s not too pepperminty either, which is a characteristic of most foot creams.

In honor of fall and winter, we’re giving away a set of the below items to one lucky winner:

C.O. Bigelow Ultra Mentha Lip Shine: flavored Mentha lip balms which give you a glossy shine. $7.50.

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Tint: mint-infused lip balms. $7.50 each.

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Tingling Foot Cream (described above: $14)

C.O. Bigelow Chapped Hands Remedy No.1012 (above; $14)

My favorite skincare routine during the cooler months is to: moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize. After a shower I use a body lotion all over including my feet. I use a heavier face moisturizer and a special eye cream. I always carry in my purse a small hand lotion to put on after washing my hands. I also keep a tube in my car and gym bag. I also have a small bottle of water to spritz my face throughout the day. I have tubes of lip treatment in my purse, gymbag, and car.

I live in oh-so-dry CO, so a skincare regimen is a must. Right now I’m using a couple glycolic acid products (I have KP, so I have to be good about moisturizing) in the am and pm, but I need to be better about my hands and feet. I tend to overlook them. I volunteer at a children’s hospital so I am constantly washing my hands and using the anti-bacterial liquids which are awful to my hands. I would love to see if C.O. Bigelow’s products help me out. I use their lip products and have been very happy with them.
