(Review) Estee Lauder Debuts New Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator

If there’s something I can’t stand…it’s uneven skin tone. It rubs me the wrong way, and this really means everything from blotchiness to acne. In fact, no amount of careful foundation layering can conceal the true nature and texture of good skin.

I’ve tried a lot of products over the years, and found that the more I searched, the less I found. Like a true light at the end of the tunnel, I knew that once I found a product that absolutely did what it said, and performed the way it was supposed to, I wouldn’t really need to find anything else.

In just two weeks, the new Estee Lauder Even Skintone Illuminator (the first fast acting serum that addresses these issues for all ethnicities and skin tones) showed it reduced uneven skintone. The new serum also instantly illuminates the skin to make it immediately radiate, using the Triple-Optic technology. There’s also a CorrectTone Technology that combines proven anti-aging and anti-spot ingredients.

The packaging says that even the very first application will make you see significant results. Seeing is believing, and I loved the no slip, instant results, true to life performance of the Idealist Skintone Illuminator.

The scent is actually very subtle – the signature Idealist scent which is a blend of luminous floral and sparkling citrus notes. A 30ml bottle will retail for $58, and a 50 ml bottle retails for $85. These will be in stores nationwide in June 2011.

Estee Lauder is known for capitalizing and enhancing its past successes (think Bronze Goddess). The Idealist line includes our favorite, the Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher, as well as the Refinishing Eye Serum.  Both have very silky textures, and the new Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator performs the same way.

I’ve been using my serum for a day now, and love the feel of it. It’s also non greasy since it contains zero oil. If it can do for my skin even a fraction of what it promises on the box, I would have found my Holy Grail, all for an extremely worthy price.

It sounds like a great serum! It is pricey but if you do see good results from it than it’s worth it! Thanks

I am now well into my 50s and I have tried everything on the market, even expensive bleaching creams purchased from my dermatologist. I’ve found that most skin lightening creams–if they work at all–lighten your skin and the scaring in equal proportions, leaving the scars just as prominent as before you started using the product; you look like you’re changing colors and you still have spots.

What I was looking for was something that would even out my skin tone; leave my skin color as it was but smooth out and/or lighten only the scars so that my face would have the same even coloring all over. Nothing worked, that is until I found Dr Max Powers Scar Serum. I thought it should just be used on scars, but I used it all around my face as my moisturizer. And I am extremely happy with the results!

I’m currently testing it out for Estee Lauder and let me say I am NOT being paid for it. In my opinion its very creamy, doesnt clog the pores or look greasy. It gives my face a subtle “glow”. I love it. The smell is wonderful and I cant wait to buy it in stores!

I’m currently testing it for Estee Lauder too and so far I love it. I’ve been using it twice a day for 3 days and my face texture is softer and I have these tiny white bumps places and they are going away. It may be expensive but if it works like it’s supposed to, I may have to shell out the cash and make this a staple in my regimen. Also, I used very little at a time so it should last a good while. 🙂
