(Review) Estee Lauder Debuts New Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator

If there’s something I can’t stand…it’s uneven skin tone. It rubs me the wrong way, and this really means everything from blotchiness to acne. In fact, no amount of careful foundation layering can conceal the true nature and texture of good skin.

I’ve tried a lot of products over the years, and found that the more I searched, the less I found. Like a true light at the end of the tunnel, I knew that once I found a product that absolutely did what it said, and performed the way it was supposed to, I wouldn’t really need to find anything else.

In just two weeks, the new Estee Lauder Even Skintone Illuminator (the first fast acting serum that addresses these issues for all ethnicities and skin tones) showed it reduced uneven skintone. The new serum also instantly illuminates the skin to make it immediately radiate, using the Triple-Optic technology. There’s also a CorrectTone Technology that combines proven anti-aging and anti-spot ingredients.

The packaging says that even the very first application will make you see significant results. Seeing is believing, and I loved the no slip, instant results, true to life performance of the Idealist Skintone Illuminator.

The scent is actually very subtle – the signature Idealist scent which is a blend of luminous floral and sparkling citrus notes. A 30ml bottle will retail for $58, and a 50 ml bottle retails for $85. These will be in stores nationwide in June 2011.

Estee Lauder is known for capitalizing and enhancing its past successes (think Bronze Goddess). The Idealist line includes our favorite, the Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher, as well as the Refinishing Eye Serum.  Both have very silky textures, and the new Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator performs the same way.

I’ve been using my serum for a day now, and love the feel of it. It’s also non greasy since it contains zero oil. If it can do for my skin even a fraction of what it promises on the box, I would have found my Holy Grail, all for an extremely worthy price.

I received the Estee Lauder Even Skintone Illuminator as a product test and really, truly wanted to believe that this would be the miracle lotion that would erase my past acne scars and uneven splotchy skintone. I have been using this product for ten days and will agree that yes, this is a very smooth and silky lotion that feels great on the skin with a wonderful scent but has not really made a difference in my skin’s appearance. I’m guessing that if nine in ten women saw results in that this lotion illuminated their skintone, I must be that tenth woman that had no change in skintone appearance whatsoever. I am grateful that this was a product test and that I didn’t have to shell out $89.00 for-yipes! Two stars on a five star scale for the Estee Lauder Even Skintone Illuminator.

wait a minute. so, you’re writing a review on this product based on WEARING IT FOR JUST ONE DAY?? lame and useless.

almost any new beauty product feels good the first day, just out of the novelty factor.

I tried the product for a couple weeks and I’m sad to say it caused some breakouts for me. My skin has been clear now for quite a while and using this product is the only correlation I can find.I would suggest acne prone people beware:(. The problem is that it may very well fade the scars, but if it’s just potentially causing new breakouts, what’s the point? Hope this helps!

I have to agree with DCBSD that if you are acne prone people beware!!! I have been using it for almost 2 weeks and it is causing new breakouts and no change in skin tone :(. IT looks like it is going back to the store soon…
